Stronghold Crusader HD - First Edition Trail 11 - Rocky Valley

Welcome to my walkthrough of the Stronghold Crusader Trail. I will try to win all missions as fair as possible, so no rushing and no early harassing, at least where its possible since some maps are really small... And I will also try to not lose any units, as usual ^^
To make it more challenging, I used the Unofficial Crusader Patch (UCP) and played with Krarilotus' aggressive AIs and the SHC compatible castles. For the rest of the settings, I kept the recommendations of Xander10alpha, who made a tutorial (in german) about how to get this whole thing running, which helped a lot! :-D

I have a proposal for next missions. To make this challenge more natural, at the beggining of missions you have to build any kind of castle with walls, gates and towers that will surround your lord. It doesn't have to be anything fancy, you could do something like AI just to make thing litte bit harder because at this moment 2 square towers with balistas and crossbowmans are all it's needed for defense which seems to easy :)

It's not worth to build castles in the game about castles, that's strange

@@mrrobaczek6745 Yes, of course there is no point in building full-size castle but I meant to add some challenge to the missions so it's not that easy.

​@@mrrobaczek6745 Sometimes it's not ideal to build a full size castle, especially when the mission begins because you're just begging the AI to use catapults all the time. The best time to make a good castle is when the AI is low on resources and you have nearly full control of other resources in the field, so you can attack, defend and build at the same time

Well, I thought about additional challenges, but I think speed 90, no buying wood/stone, no rushes, no catapults, no shields and no losses were enough ^^ I also need the open castles for my playstyle. I am dependant on knowing where the enemies will attack so that I can prepare my defenses. And I need the space for my big economy. On top of that, as you should know by now, I am reeeaaally slow in building stuff, so unless I reduce the game speed, I just dont have enough time to build a castle against aggressive AIs... :-/

Is there any specific thought when it comes to buying crossbows and armor in 20s ???

Hmm, good question... I think its just a convenient number. They cost roughly 2000 gold, there are enough idle peasants at the campfire to recruit them without waiting, a single armory is big enough for the 40 required weapons and there is enough space for about 2x20 soliers on a big tower.

I noticed your placing apothecaries right before you attack during this playthrough but cant for the life of me figure out what that does. I assume it must weaken their defenses somehow.

Its just the final step of setting up my defenses. They added a feature with the UCP that the healer occasionally also heals my troops. I cant avoid getting hit by an arrow every now and then, but I can make sure that my troops are back to full health once the next waves comes :-)
