It would be cool, but to be honest, I prefer Jewel campaign to any sort of prequel stories. By the way, if you want to see how the Pig could've looked like during his bandit times, you can check out his portrait from the old SH1 demo version (to be precise, its section showing what to expect in the full version of the game).

gawd I wish Stronghold game had elements of Knights of Honor especially real time campaign map of europe and north africah and the game being under another IP name.. but like even made in super hyper dark realistic graphics but that of course wouldn't hinder the RTS fighting.. a mix of 4x and RTS

Just finished Swine's Bay on Normal. I feel like Firefly studios should have play tested these missions a lot more. A couple of complaints about build availabilities that should be fixed: Levels 1 & 3 have it so you can make an Engineer's Guild to make engineers, BUT you literally aren't able to do anything with an engineer (No trebuchet, boiling pitch, etc) Level 5 has you able to make killing pits and caged war dogs, but because you only fight wolves throughout the whole mission, they can't do anything which is an immediate waste of resources. ***Also level 5's map design was a little lazy when you hit spacebar and look at the top of the map. Level 6 I was so happy to finally have capabilities for boiling pitch and trebuchets, BUT now I wasn't able to make an Engineer's Guild to have engineers which felt completely backwards like I was being tricked. ***Also in level 6 - the developers put an OX carrier next to the Iron mine like it was Stronghold 2 so that was weird being that it was a waste of an OX building.

I'd be a lot more interested in these DLCs if they played like fresh new campaigns instead of starting out at final level difficulty like right after you finish the Wolf in the original campaign.

Thanks for the feedback! We felt the difficulty of the Jewel campaigns was better geared toward Stronghold veterans, given who we expected to be playing DE and feedback we received along the way. We have tried to make Easy mode viable for all players however, so give that a go if you haven't already :)

@@fireflyworlds I am a Stronghold veteran, I've finished the Stronghold campaign on both the original and DE. The very first mission is even an "invasion" mission where you have to navigate troops through a map rather than build a base and defend it. That alone makes me not interested at all, easy mode or otherwise.

I tried out the new update, I see you still haven't fixed the troop spawn in the map editor and if you place too much trees they still die out EVEN ON YOUR NEW FREEPLAY MAP, come on guys, this ain't it. Can't you fix that bug finally? Also did you not add starting goods on the new freeplay map on purpose?

This might not even be a bug. Just a limitation to avoid having too manu trees (also animals) on the map. Maybe to limit memory use? Just like troop limits this should be removed in a modern re-release. But as with many other aspects of SH DE, firefly just could not be bothered...

I've beaten every mission in this dlcs, even the pig ones.And i have to say that this is just borring, missions are the same, some of them are easy capture the flag, some of them are borring tower defence for 30 minutes, first defend from your keep than later you have so much troops that you have to wait for 30minutes or more for that last attack to spawn, some of them are stupid like the mission with archeres and wolfes.The thing that i do not understand is why is this company trying so hard not to listen to the fans.I mean the only thing that keeps stronghold franchise alive is the og crusader and youtubers.For years and years people are asking for stronghold crusader definitive edition, with new AI lords and new skirmishes.And we keep getting the Stronghold 3, Crusader 2 and Warlords.I own all three of new games, but for expample even after alot of time they still havent fixed basic bugs in Strongold 3 and Crusader 2, the games for borring with bunch of cut content from originals, they even managed to ruin ai lords for example Caliph and Richard in crusader 2.This definitive edition of og stronghold was nice thing but still no skirmishes, no fighting against ai, just DLC with same missions that are borring.They say that these DLC missions are for experienced players, there is nothing experience can do when you INSTA spawn attack wave with 20 catapults, 100 maceman and swordsman and call it for "skilled players".They said that is not in their plans to do definitive edition for original crusader, i still hope that they will do it and add new ai's and new skirmishes.
