oh man i got absolutely raped in this mission on very hard! And I've been playing stronghold for years! I over estimated the ability of my archers to actually kill the spearmen :(

+Goat Punishment Yeah, I know, the first wave is quite hard aswell as the large one later. I guess the best thing you can do is buy those 10 bows at the beginning and then build a wall to hold off the spearman. With a good layout this should be more than doable then.

I managed to get past it by sheer dumb luck! But I just did the first snake mission (for like the 125th time or something in the history of owning the game haha) and did on very hard. I almost won but on this wave, snake sent like a fuckload of macemen, and they all took a little bit of damage! But since they managed to speed past something like 126 archers, and killed my king! So bullshit haha

I simply built a fortress. Also works, no need to buy bows.

Even the deaths of farmers during the first wave attack are perfectly timed while the plants grow

Also, on Easy, I find it very annoying (and pointless to speedrunners) that the Snake doesn't take the Ale for a full 5 years.

True. Fun fact: if you produce 20 ale for the snake and another 42 ale during his last attack, you will be rewarded with 2 extra ale in your score ^^

Buying weapons makes the start a little bit easier but a simple wall should also do the trick.

The first wave is challanging and buying 10 extra bows from the market helps a lot! The rest should be doable especially if you focus more on defense than on ale.
