In 2006, Mariuz walked in thinking he just has to show up and he’ll win the title. The look of shock on his face, 5 events in a row being beat by Pfister and losing the title… he came back with a vengeance this year!

@aaronbarlow4376 yeah 1 more against lesser competition. Big z beat him quite a few times and when he came back from ifsa he took back the crown.
@aaronbarlow4376
@aaronbarlow4376 Жыл бұрын
@@julianhernandez6457 Lesser competition is entirely arbitrary and baseless. Also Marius like many explosive athletes had a prime, and Big Z had a long career at a decent level, he was more of a static, slow twitch athlete as we saw in deadlift axel for reps where his reps were quite slow. Fast twitch athletes like Mike Tyson, Fedor Emelianenko etc have shorter primes.
@peteysurber3760
@peteysurber3760 4 ай бұрын
@@aaronbarlow4376 Sort of. "Less competition" is not baseless at all. For those handful of years where Mariusz racked up titles (2005, 2007, 2008), IFSA and WSM split. Just before that split, Mariusz finish 3rd behind Vasyl Virastyuk and Big Z. Virastyuk would've been a serious competitor to win the WSM in those years (2005-2008), just as Big Z would've been. Just before Savickas left and when he came back, he beat Mariusz pretty easily in WSM competitions. Sadly, we'll never know who would've won what, but that era of Strongman was fun to watch.

@@Mr-qz7ky Again those Big Z cheerleaders all hating Mariusz! How about when Z was far more experienced and had many years more maturity, he still got dominated every time he went against MP in WSM - enough that he eventually quit and didn't come back until MP had lost interest! XD
@annematthews1837

@@Mr-qz7ky Dont be fucking stupid. Those IFSA boys were constantly turning up to the Super Series AND periodically competing in WSM and in both those scenarios, Marius absolutely dominated them all 80% of the time. DONT TAKE MY WORD FOR IT! Go check out the massive results lists on Wikipedia (if you don't know already, which I presume you MUST know, being that you're commenting here....). Face it, whenever Z and Marius met, Marius won far more times than Z did. End of. Not my OPINION, son ... but cold hard indisputable fact. Z is a great athlete and in the end became very dominant, but lets get real and tell the truth, and not let our strange ... personal ... crush ... deviate from a reality. Cheers.
