Also Marius like many explosive athletes had a prime, and Big Z had a long career at a decent level, he was more of a static, slow twitch athlete as we saw in deadlift axel for reps where his reps were quite slow. Fast twitch athletes like Mike Tyson, Fedor Emelianenko etc have shorter primes.

@@aaronbarlow4376 Sort of. "Less competition" is not baseless at all. For those handful of years where Mariusz racked up titles (2005, 2007, 2008), IFSA and WSM split. Just before that split, Mariusz finish 3rd behind Vasyl Virastyuk and Big Z. Virastyuk would've been a serious competitor to win the WSM in those years (2005-2008), just as Big Z would've been. Just before Savickas left and when he came back, he beat Mariusz pretty easily in WSM competitions. Sadly, we'll never know who would've won what, but that era of Strongman was fun to watch.

DONT TAKE MY WORD FOR IT! Go check out the massive results lists on Wikipedia (if you don't know already, which I presume you MUST know, being that you're commenting here....). Face it, whenever Z and Marius met, Marius won far more times than Z did. End of. Not my OPINION, son ... but cold hard indisputable fact.
