Not topping the luck of last week, but another really nice solve! I've put the rule changes that apply for Weekly Squardle on the page you click to start it starting *this* week, so week #6. The confusion about why the final guess sometimes gives a bonus guess and sometimes does not is covered there. But in short, in Weekly Squardle a final winning guess always solves at least one row and one columns, and since I want it to be possible to win by the skin of your teeth, those two words don't give your a bonus guess. So if you win, your final score for weekly is 16 minus your guesses used, and for non-weekly it's 15 minus guesses used. The update I just pushed live makes the startup page when you load the game have a Cliff notes version of the rules, since the full rules and FAQ have been both too hard to find and too long for anyone to want to read. The short rules are probably still too long for some first time visitors who just want to try playing. But my hope is that it will lower the amount of e-mails I get about people thinking the double and triple arrow clues are bugged. Thanks for mentioning that you have to *guess* multiples of the letter to get a double there BTW! It's likely still the most confusing part, but the "missing" bonus guesses for the final solves *is* starting to make a strong showing in my inbox as well...

Ah! I was hoping you might be here. I was wondering why on last week's weekly puzzle my final word solved six words but my score went from 6 to 9 rather than 11. Looks like you have it covered in the new rules so I'll check it out. Ta.

When you guessed flyer I was like one of the other words could be flyer but for some reason I thought the last weekly squardle had flyer so I was like nah

I literally guessed IMPLY on the last row/column and the row showed all reds and I was like "No way is that one of the words?" And it was and I was brooooooo no way I was that lucky!

Do the quordle and Dordle they are pretty hard

Squardle generously gives you a chance to win with zero guesses remaining. In the daily game, if your last try completes only one word, you won't get an extra guess for that. But you can get extra guesses for the second, third and fourth words completed on the last try. In the weekly game, every letter is a part of two words. So whenever the last letter turns green, it completes two words. You don't get extra guesses for those two words. But you can get extra guesses for the third, fourth, fifth and sixth words completed on the last try.
