Angela Rippon's bank account is probably fake but the amounts are probably realistic and a good reflection of prices back then.

As a 10 yr old I’d stand next to my Dairy Farmer Stepdad at Salisbury Market in that exact year. The days that the truck would turn up at his farm to collect the boy calfs which ‘ weren’t any use ‘ were heartbreaking. Mum and us boys would run indoors as we’d only moved-in with him and weren’t ‘ hardened ‘ to such things. I live with vegans now and won’t eat animals 👍
