Great video , thanks for sharing. We built a SIPS home about 8 years ago. So comfortable. There is a bit of noise , no diifferent to a tin iron roof though

I like the the way you have used the trolly. You could put some flat ply wood done to make it easier to move across the roof.
@benleeconcepts95424 жыл бұрын
Good Morning, thank you for your comment. In this instance it would have taken longer to lay and remove ply wood. It only took a few seconds to wheel the panels across.

Trolleys are cool. Thought about adding a long rod handle to pull it forward and up some to get over the ridges? Also could use a 2x4 to lift the panel with 2 ppl to turn the trolly
@Happy-Trails-To-You9 күн бұрын
Was there a pitch to that roof or just flat. If flat, did you need to caulk under the overlap? Also it would be nice to see how you fastened these down to the house.

did you take any precautions for thermal bridging from the overhang/soffit area to the inside of the house along the bottom steel sheet?
@benleeconcepts95423 жыл бұрын
Hi there, yes the build process involved placing Polypropylene tape for thermal bridging and noise prevention to prevent cracking and creaking of the roof that can be caused by extreme wind and weather conditions.

Can't believe you put the boards on from one end only. No need for them dollies at all, just move the step ladders after every 2-3 boards. You wouldn't paint a floor and leave the tin of paint at one end and keep going back to it.
@benleeconcepts95424 жыл бұрын
Hi there, thanks for your comments. It was actually quicker to do it this way in this instance! This was the lowest point of the house, so there was minimal distance off the ground. It only takes a few seconds to wheel the panels across versus moving and setting up ladders / planks.
@benleeconcepts95423 жыл бұрын
@@lukebuxtonnbhs9685 As mentioned earlier, in this instance it was easier / quicker to wheel panels across as opposed to moving / setting up planks/ladders for every panel. Thanks for your thoughts.
@johnnydiepeveen3 жыл бұрын
Takes way too long using the dollies. Just lifting these few, not so heavy panels by hand wouldn’t be that hard, and would be much quicker
@bersabeharris46802 жыл бұрын
Why would you from the other end? Why not close to where you put the roof? Any prep needed as to why you lift it up far from intended area?

That's brilliant. Do the dolleys have pneumatic tyres or solid tyres? How are the roof panels fixed to the walls? What about the angles between walls and roof?
@allrcflyingisfun4 жыл бұрын
In my SIPS build using Austec panels the tops of the walls are Sheathed in a steel U section that is screwed to the wall sections and then the roof panels are scewed to the steel U section,Can all be seen on the SIPS Panels Australia Chanel.

Depends on what you're after. If you wantt the highest R-value per dollar and the strongest panels on the market, PermaTherm has the lead. If you're cladding an existing frame, Delta will likely give you the best longitudinal rigidity per dollar spent... simply because they offer more aggressive skin profiles that lend more to the characteristic. Lots of people will say Snap-Loc has the best/easiest DIY panel system... but in my experience, their suppos-ed advantage is more of a hindrance, than a help. Worse yet
