Golgi apparatus is also known as the Golgi complex, Golgi body, or simply the Golgi. It is an organelle found in most eukaryotic cells. The structure and function of the Golgi apparatus are intimately linked. The Golgi apparatus is a major collection and dispatch station of protein products received from the endoplasmic reticulum (ER). Proteins synthesized in the ER are packaged into vesicles, which then fuse with the Golgi apparatus.
