Thanks Black Blade! It was good to be out there in the cold, just hanging out and staying warm. It is pretty scenic this time of year.

Thanks for another video! I was wondering when we would hear from you again. I laughed out loud when you said your unused footage from your last trip to the cabin would stay “on your computer…forever.” That was funny! You take beautiful pictures of the cabin and trees at night. I enjoy the blue hues with the color of the fire. I hope you get another video (or 5!) done before the winter season comes to an end. 🙏🏻🪵🔥

Thank you Lisa! Yes, I had attempted to make an episode a week and a half ago, but the footage a got was not up to par in my opinion and did not want to put it on the channel as I think it would have hurt the channel rather than add to it. I am hoping to get a few more overnights in this cold season and then try something new in the spring in addition to projects season, I still have to set myself up for that though. Thanks for tuning in and watching as always!

Starting a fire with matches is perfectly fine...same with a fire steel BUT you can't believe how practical a self igniting torch is. I have 2 at my camp and I never use matches. Now, in extreme cold, you may need to warn up the 1 lb bottle of propane in your sweater/coat but it just works. You may not need news paper either. Just a suggestion.
@TheBushkateer Жыл бұрын
Thanks Mike! I will have to check those out! I have a fire steel I just picked up and will be playing with it more in the future. I like playing around with gadgets like that and learn new skills. Having a self igniting torch sounds like one of those gadgets. Thanks for the tip!

Hi, from Sweden! You have actually inspired me to by one of these Dutch ovens. Looks so nice when you make food on it 😄
@TheBushkateer Жыл бұрын
Thank You Jennie! Dutch ovens are great to use when cooking outdoors I think! My favorite way of cooking at the tiny cabin! There are a lot of things you can prepare with them. I plan on doing some experimenting with it this some by using charcoal rather than over top of the firepit. Thanks for tuning in and commenting Jennie! Hope all is well in Sweden!

I think spring time you need to insulate the cabin and also get some fire stone and put them on top of the stove it will hold alot of heat ,and buy a smal battery fan to circulate the hot air.
@TheBushkateer Жыл бұрын
Thanks Antoine! That will be happening soon enough. I actually do have a little fan to help circulate air in the tiny cabin!

So nice to see you. Was waiting to see what you would post. Love the food you cooked. If you add black beans,corn,green chop peppers, onions, stew tomatoes, to the ground beef/pork. When it finished cooking add sour cream and cheese. You can eat it alone or with tortillas. Its delicious. It looked like the weather was very cold. Great to see your channel. Be blessed.

Get old like me and its a golf cart with ATV Tires and wheels. Property is beautiful Wayne. Love watching you enjoy the cookouts and chilly weather. Alberta Has to be just AMAZING’ Good Luck, Have fun. ❤

@mariareyesrosado425 Жыл бұрын
@@TheBushkateer yes I add garlic, cumin, turmeric, steak seasoning, a bit of salt to taste. You should write a cook book of your favorite bushkateer recipes and write of different experiences you had with Buiding the cabin, decorating the inside and outside of your cabin. You know experiences that are unique to you , the dream of building your own cabin and see it come to pass. Its must be a great feeling

Half a head of cabbage, three carrots, garlic, onions, 1 lb of ground pork, bay leaf, brown sugar, 1 can of tomato soup, 4 cups of beef broth, cayenne pepper. Brown the meat, garlic and onions first, then add the rest. When vegetables are tender it is done. That's all there is to it, pretty simple meal that tastes great. If you want you can add some sour cream on top of it when you dish it up in a bowl or plate.
