Just a suggestion if your driveway is that icy hook up your disc and run over it lightly to break the ice up then you can push ice out of driveway. we use to do it years ago so milk truck could get in and out.

I was thinking the same thing😊

@@georgesprangers2395 Are farm Lane was exactly 1 mile long pretty much down hill all the way all winter we pulled milk truck out every other day. Back in early 90's had bad ice storm from melt and refreeze ice would get 4-6 inches solid we used IH 1206 and miller offset disc go out the lane and plow back with V-blade on front of 1206 get ice cut out.

@RandyHunt19Күн бұрын
Chris you had a great day thank god Larry helped you out a bit. Just one man short is all there would take a lot of pressure off you. I’m sure you will be happy when your harvest is complete. Would you have 50,000 bushels when finished? I can see if you had a place to dump or store corn be a real asset. One tandem truck hauling from combine when it was dry at 15.5 % and a large bin to hold it sure would help your operation. It all stems back to seeding 2 to 3 weeks earlier and that would have saved you a lot of stress but we all learning together..good luck with the rest of the harvest…also get a load of gravel dumped in your yard and when shit gets icy take the 27 and a bucket full and sprinkle it on the driveway so your ass isn’t so puckered you couldn’t drive a flax seed up it with a sludge hammer… know all about ice with trucks not a great feeling!

hi chris from alberta just wrap some tape around the wires there are brushes in the housinglike on a alternator; to supply power to clutch , closed that port gives you more volume which those lift cylinders need , found out same problem on grain truck but had to swap pumps

Duffy When you were talking about getting a sander for the lane, which will work good for ice with very little snow. But watch farm sales and see if you can get some chains for the pusher tractor, if you get snow on top of the ice tires need the grip. Keep pushing thru.

Funny you mentioned snow fence, our farm was west of Batavia the County used to drop off snow fence to farmers which we put in and they picked up in spring also sand is really cheap but if you could get cheap grade rock salt that will melt thru to sections sand will only cover top and will spin right thru

We ran a 7700 which had the same electric clutch set up. We never used it, and left it engaged all the time, starting the head with the threshing system. The only time we ever pushed that electric clutch button was when we about to plug, which never happens in corn anyway. There’s a mechanical function to that and every time you use it, it’s wearing out, so our thought was leave it engaged and it will last longer mechanically. Maybe we wore the drive belts faster though starting the separator with the head engaged?
