We know it is sometimes too tough for snow blowers to throw wet and heavy snow like this. The problem with the belt for the snowblower showed up in the middle of this winter, before the heavy snow. I cannot find any obvious reasons to what is causing this problem. I am also not convinced if the, unique for this model, faster spinning auger in the middle is a good thing or not. You need an Ariens 2-stage Compact 24 Rapidtrack. We live in Alaska the way you do and bought one this year just in time for the 5 feet of snow we had in 6 days in December. Amazing machine! Worth every penny! Don't go with the 28 inch, it's 100 lbs heavier and it's not worth the extra cost really.

We have the same machine and have a similar problem-the belt that turns the auger gets shredded or burnt up every time we use it. We’ve been very unhappy with the purchase since it was quite expensive and we live in Alaska where we need to use it frequently (like you). We replaced the belt countless times before figuring out a “fix” for the issue. We found that, due to the design, melting snow and ice tends to pool up under the blower which locks the fan from being able to turn causing the belt to burn out. When that happens it has to be warned up (we use a space heater) and allowed to thaw out, then chipped away. It’s an annoying process, but does work.

This is very rare for me...but in this episode watching Ivar play, I become totally lost in it and forgot where I was! Hello I am happy you are making videos again, I know I will never get to visit Norway but to see it through your videos is just plain wonderful, I have been watching for a long time. Hej, I live in NH where we get a ton of snow a few times every week in the winter. My friend has a snow blower that you are talking about with treads instead of wheels. You really let the machine do all the work - you just walk behind and guide it. No pushing, pulling or general wrestling. They love it.

I always try to use a high octane (91) nonoxygenated fuel (no ethanol) in my small engines. Synthetic oils also help the engine work easier. Not sure if this is helpful for you in Sweden or not, but Minnesota has some snow & cold too. 😉 Oops. Almost forgot to mention the importance of using Snowplow Wax or some other treatment so the snow sluffs off the auger assembly smoothly without sticking. I use a spray furniture wax and it works pretty well.😀 On my Husqvarna blower, changing the belt is pretty easy. The auger assembly hinges out of the way (opens at the top of the housing while the bottom of the housing stays attached.). Take about 40 minutes or so. Good luck. I'd come and do it for you but we're snowed in here in MN now. 🙂

I love Ivar's snowsuit and he gets around so well. My granddaughter, Natalie at 10 months, is close to walking now . She has a wonderful spirit too. Winter here refuses to show us that Spring is coming. Many snowblowers have ( I forget the name) a small softer metal disk which is designed to snap and need replacing if you get a branch in the auger.This saves completely ruining the engine. I used to have 3 spare disks spare every winter.

I cant say it enough how wonderful your video skills are ! Your son is growing so fast & love watching you all play in the snow. Watching you shovel snow off the cabin has to be so hard...today I was cleaning off straw that has fallen on my garden shed & I've been lazy the few years not cleaning it off...today it was 80 F here so perfect day to do it ! I cant handle the cold like you all do. Hopefully spring isnt to far off for you there ! Oh & #cubcadet needs to replace that snowblower...maybe email them with the issues & they can help out..

I think you have more problem with you snowblower because the "majority" of the uses are "in town" or small villages, NOT in the wild countryside having to clean long paths such as yours!

Good day from the East Coast of the USA north east where we get snow also but not nearly as much as you folks. It is a lot of fun watching your son and your wife and you of course dad playing with him instead of him sitting in front of technology and his grandparents making wooden toys for him. Reminds me of my childhood I just entered into my eighth decade couple of days ago and boy I feel it. However, we’re not gonna focus on my ills and pains I wanna talk about what good parent you are, spending so much time with ur happy go lucky SON and teaching him things that he needs to know to be a good man as he grows. He really has a great time being with you folks outside. I hope you know what your doing to mold his future. Lad never seems to get tired of playing. Cub cadet, Humm! All I have to say. Good luck getting it repaired. Working correctly they are worth there weight in gold. Stay well be safe. Who flies the drone, great skills, you maneuver that thing like you’re sitting in it.
