@MattWiles
@MattWiles 5 жыл бұрын
Nah, I disagree. In normal life yes but not in business and especially not in a business presentation. It shows weakness and emotional thinking. Say what you want about it being 2019 but this country’s success is built on men who act like men in war or business. No CEO or business owner is going to gain credibility for acting this way in front of his staff.
@ollyhp
@ollyhp 5 жыл бұрын
@@MattWiles I agree to an extent, people, especially men shouldn't cry at stupid little things, they should cry at things that are something to cry about though, like the death of your child..., I presume his wife had just had the miscarriage and he has probably not had time to process it as hes been preparing for the pitch, so on these grounds, i think its acceptable, though I would say they gave him the money in sympathy.

@Doctor Drake ffs okay let me try then. Let's say his busines would make at least some money. Let's say a 100k turnover, and i'm being pretty generous here. That's 100% of something. Now if this business was estimated 1M with peters help, the guy would have 50% a.k.a. 500k. Which is 400k more than what he would have with 100% stake.
@Jimmertt

The quote is an effective way to say you don't always need the full 100% of something for it to be valuable. Taking 50% of something that's more profitable than the 100% of what it would have been without any help or other added value is still a better choice to make than to keep your 100% Sayings like that are made in a way where the point can easily be grabbed but you seem to miss that and apply it way to literally to this situation.

Poor poor guy? Ok lets analyse this a bit. His WIFE had three misscarriages. Not him. I know he also lost the chance to become a dad but as a husband who watched his own wife go through the same, I can assure anyone, it’s infinitely worse for them. On top of that she’s got the stress and pressure of working full time to support her whole family unit. He went into a Dragons Den pitch with incorrect ingredients printed on a packaging. Gave what he claimed was a gluten free product to someone who has a gluten allergy, then informed them (incorrectly) the product had oatmeal flour. (Which contains gluten). To which he then realised he’d messed his own information up and had printed incorrect information on his own product. On top of all that, he hadn’t even calculated his potential profit margins. And then claimed “sorry maths isn’t my strong point”. If it isn’t your strong point...prepare in that area especially. I get that he has had a hard time of it but come on...these were mistakes I’d expect from children, not grown adults trying to make a business. He’s extremely lucky he got any offers at all. But, I genuinely liked the chap and hope he makes it because he seems like a good dude. People should use this video as a lesson on how NOT to pitch to the Dragons though.

The men in that room literally saved a life right here. It takes a man to understand another man, especially in today's society where we're literally belittled for no reason. I've met entrepreneurs that haven't made it in years, product after product, and either live a poor depressing life pursuing a dream or go corporate (which is fine and a safer bet) but then tend to lose that passion to grow a business. This guy's wife was already keeping both financially stable and after a third miscarriage, I mean drear god. This man must've felt like a worm every single day he didn't provide to her. God forbid without an offer he would've end divorcing or worse. So happy his business is producing millions now in profit.
