"Winter Miles Make Summer Smiles." What motivates me ^^

Please stop being so hard on yourself. You are a human being - not a machine. Your motivation will come to you as the days get longer and the spring flowers come to life. You should stop and admire the small things: the snowdrops, crocuses. Listen to the birdlife and take a moment to congratulate yourself on what you have achieved in a pandemic. You have inspired and motivated us, your viewers. Maybe you just need to take a step back, look at blogs and other cyclists videos and before you know it your va va voom will have crept back. Good luck and stay safe.

I'm not being hard on myself, that's the whole point. I've accepted how it is and getting on with it, in my own way. If stopping and admiring the small things works for you, I'm happy for you (and slightly envious)! 🙂

I can't cycle on roads at all, you're very brave.

I think everyone is struggling for motivation at the moment. Thankfully the weather is starting to improve so me and my wife have been getting out on the bikes again. She was a lockdown learner cyclist, she'd always been nervous about cycling on the road but the lack of traffic last year gave her the confidence to get out and now she really enjoys it, even with traffic slowly increasing. I used to cycle a lot but I seemed to suffer some kind of midlife lethargy where I suddenly lost my enthusiasm for a lot of things. I used to love photography as well but just gave up. I don't know if its just me or it affects others as well? It was my wife's idea to start cycling last year (she entered the london 100 mile cycle!) and I'm so glad she did, I know left to my own devices I'd never have got back out on the bike. I'm lucky to have a partner who has plenty of motivation but even she's struggled through all of this. We entered lap of the lough (Lough Neagh NI) last year but it was cancelled, hopefully it'll go ahead this year. Its nothing like the challenge you've taken on but it gives us something to aim for. Living by the coast its quite easy to plan a route but it can get boring doing the same roads over and over. With lockdown easing we'll hopefully be able to go further afield soon. I hope you find some motivation from somewhere, at least enough to keep posting on YT!

You’re doing well just getting outdoors to ride especially with the weather, lack of riding company and cafes. Keep it up.👏👏

I’m not riding much either. Mainly because of the weather - it’s either freezing cold or raining. But the days are getting longer and hopefully warmer weather is on the way - not next week though!

Another brilliant video Kajsa. You inspire so many of us. Thanks to you, we can see a bit of light at the end of the tunnel. You've even got me to drag my old bike out, although I'm not thanking you when I'm cold and wet and not even half way around my route that I've set for myself. You need to take stock. You motivate and inspire us. Spent a little time out to do the same for yourself. Stay safe. Keep going.

@@KajsaTylen the science behind training for endurance is also doing very short intervals flat out or almost flat out i.e. 2 minutes on 2 - 4 minutes off, maybe 4 of those is all that is needed . Ideal for the indoor turbo trainer, even Victor Campanaerts the current hour record holder does only 5 repetitions of this. It increases the horse power of the body/engine thus improves endurance greatly. It also grows new cells in the body et cetera

In short - expectation management! That's what this chapter we are all living through is all about. Humans created this problem, humans deal with it 🤷♂️

Don’t forget, that cycling 7 miles is bad but driving 7 miles is socially acceptable 🙄🙄 🤣😂
