Not gonna lie. I'm finding a soy-free vegan diet super hard...and boring! If you have any high-protein, soy-free, plant-based meal or snack ideas, leave them in the comments below! Subscribe so you don't miss the next video (kzbin.info)

Have you ever tried Burmese tofu? It's made entirely from chickpea flour but it can fill the same role as regular tofu in a meal. It's also really easy to make at home, takes about half an hour on the stovetop at most. My favorite way to prepare it is air-frying it!

Loving that you are asking for soy free recipes! I'm very interested in soy free options 😁 My daughter & I can't have a lot of soy products (makes me ill; daughter breaks out in blistered/open sores on her face). Love your videos, makes trying to introduce a variety of meals so much more appealing 😊 Thank you.

@@CharGC123 I’m assuming because in previous videos she has mentioned adult acne issues. “Soy leads to decreased estrogen levels and increased levels of androgens (male hormones), which impact the formation of acne by causing our glands to produce more pore-clogging sebum. In other words, consuming soy triggers acne breakouts.”-AcneClinic

You meals are always so inspiring! Thanks so much for sharing. I love making sauce from white beans (navy, butter, Lima). I add nutritional yeast, garlic, onion, salt, a pinch of fry mustard and cayenne. Blend it up super smooth. It’s a little like alfredo. I add it to pasta, pizza as the sauce or make nachos (traditional chips or roasted potatoes!). Also making a peanut-style almond sauce and add that to stir fries to get a protein boost.

If I couldn’t eat soy, I would also struggle to find high sources of protein🥺 But I think 1. lentils are great (love them in every colour), 2. beans and chickpeas of course, 3. almond- pumpkinseed- or peanut flour for high protein sweet snacks, 4. Quinoa , 5. Adding a tbsp ob nutritional yeast to every savory meal, 6. Seitan (made from wheat), 7. you can make tofu from any legume (there are videos online, really simple), 8. lupins are also really high in protein😊there are also soy curls made from pea protein online, they are really high in protein🙊 thats all I got, hope it helps😂 Really enjoy your videos and your kids are so cute🥹🙈

When I was soy-free (and also whole legume free😬) for a while, I made a lot of burmese tofu, which is made from chickpea flour. Lentil pasta is also very high in protein. You can also try to make seitan (or a seitan chickpea mixture) if you can handle gluten well. Since you are also plant based and not vegan, maybe you can add organic eggs every now and then to add some protein to meals where it's hard to add legumes into, like with the noodle dish you showed in the video.

Everything looks so good! Just found your channel today and I feel so inspired to cook healthier plant based meals for my family. Re. soy-free protein - do you do okay with gluten? If so, homemade seitan in various forms really packs in a lot! I have a couple of sausage recipes (a breakfast type and a hearty dinner type) as well as some chicken-style cutlet recipes, and they are so versatile - either chop some up and add to a lunch or dinner recipe, or even eat cold. Sausage slices with crackers would be a good snack.

If you are worried about protein, cook up a big pot of beans or lentils for the fridge--kinda like your sheet pancakes. I do this once or twice a week, dipping into them to put on everything. I had adult acne and a soy issue for years. I've gotten over all of my food sensitivities. There's hope. But I've never been able to each chocolate without breaking out nearly as quickly as I swallow it. I had five kids who always stole my food. I had forgotten all about it, but I used to hide, too. lol With five kids and a home daycare, I just kept everything in the toy room.
