Strumble Head Lighthouse, Wales

Hello everyone,
Today, we will be taking you to one of the beautiful destinations in South Wales- Strumble Head Lighthouse on the Penacer Peninsula. It’s located on the north west tip of Pembrokeshire, to the west of Fishguard. The lighthouse is perched on a tiny island just off the coast and reached by a small suspension bridge.
Strumble Head Lighthouse was built by Trinity House in 1908, marking the dangerous stretch of coast for vessels between Ireland and Wales. It was converted to unmanned automatic operation in 1980 and hence there isn’t any access onto the island at today’s date. The lighthouse is now monitored and controlled from Trinity House’s Planning Centre in Harwich, Essex.
Strumble is one of the best places in Wales to see migrating seabirds as they follow the coast up and down the west of Britain. In addition to the birds, you can also see seals and dolphins in this area.
