Are people really torn on this?? Travis KILLED IT. he's a phenomenal drummer. This video right here should speak for itself.

I grew up listening to both drummers. Both are very skilled, Travis obviously can span many different styles of drumming, very versatile. Jordan was so perfect for Strung Out, he made such an impact on their overall sound, it will be hard to replace him because he musically was a fantastic fit, to bad they as a band couldn't get passed their differences/disagreements.

Barker is an amazing drummer. To just step in like that an nail it, is pretty impressive. When Jordan was out, he and Chris Dalley were among my top choices for a replacement. Cool I got to see Chris play for them once, and see Travis play for them with this video.

Ya, Travis is nowhere as good as Jordan on drums. I was actually at this musink show, and when they went on I was like where the f is Jordan and googled it in crowd to find a month prior Jordan left. But ya, this performance with Travis Barker shows how he's not that great of a drummer, cause Jordan is way better. Travis just has name value. That's it. He's not a bad drummer, just not a top 10 drummer even though he's projected as some Jesus of drummers and he just isn't.
@Rich-bo8iz3 жыл бұрын
@@slashismyhommie8182 lmao yea ok jordan plays punk beats with a double pedal you obviously arent a drummer barker could do everything he can do and even more listen to mark ton and travis show by blink 182 thats all done with a single pedal which is a worlds difference much more difficult. Both good but barker is better
@matthewellis27743 жыл бұрын
@@Rich-bo8iz Didn't Jordan only start using double kicks in Blackhawks over Los Angeles? pretty sure, how do you know he plays punk beats with a double kick? Punk beats are basic AF with a single but have to admit sometimes in some songs I use a DK for punk beats as it just sounds bigger, maybe it's my imagination :P
@Rich-bo8iz3 жыл бұрын
@@matthewellis2774 yea im just saying skill wise single pedal is more impressive requires way more skill so if we talking about whos better in that aspect it would be travis barker playing at 250bpm on a single cuz thats easier on double uk what im saying. Jordan is an amazing drummer dont get me wrong but
@ThePjp1003 жыл бұрын
@@Rich-bo8iz Judged in totality Jordan is quite clearly a better drummer than Travis. Or at least was. I heard Jake say in a interview the main reason they fired Jordan was he couldn’t keep up. Side note: I think Travis Barker’s drumming is good but nothing exceptional.

Travis nails this song. A bit of a different swing from Jordan Burns, but it works. I’m still very disappointed with how poor Jason’s voice sounds live. This has been the story for 20+ years. I’ve always dug their studio stuff, and I always feel like ‘man, if these guys only sounded good live they would be one of the most dynamic, intense bands of all time. But they are usually sloppy as Jason sounds like he loses his voice 30 seconds into their first song. Sad. They could be among the greats.

Well, this is subjective, but in my opinion, when it comes to pure technique, Travis is better and more versatile than Jordan. Also, Jordan tended to rush fills *a lot* live and sometimes even in studio (especially on earlier albums), while Travis is incredible timekeeper. There's a reason why Travis is so sought after drummer by famous musicians today. :)
