Brandon H. Lee made me a fan, the acting portrayal of Kwon was dope in spite of the fact he didn’t have more screen time in Cobra Kai season 6 he gave us a memorable performance, a character who was brash yet insecure, outspoken yet doubtful, angry yet vulnerable, Kreese taught Cobra Kai strike first, strike hard, no mercy, because of those principles instilled and him forgetting the eunjangdo silver knife it lead to Kwon’s downfall and shocking demise btw Stryfe this was another great character analysis on your part too bro, also as you were talking I couldn’t help but think Apollo Creed did the exact same thing when he faced Ivan Drago in Rocky III
@AdityaKapur96Күн бұрын
The main problem with Kreese is his hypocrisy. He claims to follow the idea of treating life as a war, and treats himself as a commander but he rarely gets down to fight himself, he looks for people or in this case teens to fight for him. Since the Karate Kid part I till Cobra Kai season 6, whenever he fights his opponents one on one, he never wins on sheer skill or power, either he looses the fight or someone comes to help him. He can only do surprise attacks. He never was a warrior and that is why he cannot teach that honor to anyone.
@KVirtueofficialКүн бұрын
To be fair to Kreese (this is the only time Kreese and fair have ever been in one sentence) Kreese views himself as a commander like u said And commanders do not fight they come up with strategies and such (correct me if I'm wrong IK very little about the various responsibilities of different ranked soldiers) Also kreese did win a fight against that other soldier above the snake pit
@AdityaKapur96Күн бұрын
@ well i am also not completely sure about the responsibility or hierarchy of military but i think even commanders get down to fight if there’s a situation like this, but what i’ve noticed is that Kreese never really does that instead he either hurts his students or just uses manipulative tactics like he bad mouthing Amanda when she confronts him in the dojo and provokes her to slap him and then files a restraining order

It really is a shame that for their last season ever, they decided to waste precious time going over what happened between Kenny and Devon, just for it to be resolved by a simple, "It's okay." It was just such a useless situation that ended in a very useless way. They also wasted too much time on Dimitri being mad at Hawk for not applying for MIT. It was just so stupid and immature. At one point, I kept asking why Dimitri was even there. He never was a useful character, and if anything, he was just annoying. It should have been Kenny over Dimitri if they wanted Devon to be there so badly. It was just not the best way to go about their last season.

I fully agree with kenny being there instead of dimitri, but I think the point of cobra kai is to show their human side; these guys are literally kids, being trained by (in some cases) nut jobs, seeing them squabble over little things makes the show more realistic, along with kenny being able to forgive devon because i'm sure he already feels like a punishment was given - ik it was to anthony but once they made up, kenny had gotten rid of his anger about the situation making it easier to forgive devon

Almost every time throughout the cobra kai plotline, kreese was responsible for turning key people into villains and this has been a pattern I've been noticing. In S3, he brought out the worst in Tory and Hawk, S4 be brought back Silver in and kept pressing his trauma button to bring the psycho back, and now in S6 he brought out the worst in Kwon, only this one is very tragic as Kwon ends up killing himself with Kreese's knife (which he brought into the tournament and had it out with him during the brawl). Kreese was at the center of almost all of these, a lot of characters need to watch their backs when dealing with him.

I loved Kwons character not only because Brandon H Lee portrayal was amazing but I also related to certain aspects of his character, Kwon was realistically young chozen the parallel is clear as day, Chozen was able to be reasoned with before and after challenging Daniel to a duel with also Mr miyagi, Sato and other people near watching having all the attention on them, in Kwons case the only thing that could’ve prevented this which we see is Daniel trying to reach kwon before he charged in to fight Axel again in the middle of the brawl something so chaotic you wouldn’t even pick up on Kwon grabbing the knife if u we’re not fighting or focused in that direction, The sad reality is not everyone can be saved and I think Daniel has to learn that too, Kwon wasn’t an entirely horrible person, just misguided, used as a pawn for someone else’s gain, and that’s the another part of reality we can’t escape Kwons fate was truly unfortunate but fate is fate and if Daniel wasn’t meant to reach Kwon he wasn’t meant to

I think the main reason Kwon lost is because of his over reliance on his fancy spins and kicks. Almost every time he went up against anyone we actually were introduced to, they tended to dodge or block his attacks because of how easy it became to see them coming. Against Robby if he'd just stopped with the theatrics and just fought seriously, he probably could've won, not saying WOULDVE but COULDVE. Against Axel, he had no chance, his fighting style was too all around and Kwon's was pretty one note.

You can’t even blame his teachers as not even they could control him. Imo Kwon got what he deserved. He was an uncontrolable psychopath and wanted to kill Robby as revenge for losing to him. He would have killed Sam and Tory too if they tried to stop him when he was stomping on Robby, and he wanted to kill Axel too since he knew he cant beat him in a normal fight, so he took the knife. Axel was basically the "hero" (even if he isnt a hero) for all of them. In the end he protected many people from a guy who was out of control and ready to kill. And maybe all of this is a hint what did happen in Miyagi s case back in the day. Back then: Miyagi vs Claramunt: Death Today: Kovacevic vs Kwon: Death Maybe Miyagi's opponent Claramunt was like Kwon, that he freaked out and was a danger for others. Miyagi always said karate is to "defend yourself and protecting otehrs", and maybe he did this there. He defended himself and protected others from a raging pyscho like Kwon was, and his name was Claramunt. About 7:40: Yes I think Kwon s kick hit Axel a bit in the stomach, it was a mixture of block and hit. But like we saw against Yoon, these kind of kicks dont hurt him. He winced a bit but wasnt hurt by it and ready to continiue. About Kreese: I think he and Silver learned their lesson now. This Cobra Kai no mercy BS leads to the death at some point. They both looked so shocked. Wolff wasnt there, seems it didnt touch him at all.
