Strymon Big Sky - Demo of Various Presets

Just going through some presets on my Strymon Big Sky reverb unit; by far my favorite pedal I own. All audio recorded direct using the Big Sky cabinet filter feature.

Yes, these are all stock presets that come on the pedal!

Sounds great! One query, should my Type control be turning freely? There's not the usual click between settings I'd expect

That seems to be the normal behavior - no clicks on the ‘Type’ knob for either of my Strymon pedals :)

@@StevenRichisonGuitar No they are encoders which is different from a rotary switch - feels a bit strange not getting the positive step clicks,i agree.Just got mine - very happy with it.

How does it compare to Nuenaber Immerse pedal, please?

Much better in my opinion. I did not like the Nuenaber because there was not enough control over the wet/dry mix. If I recall correctly it won’t do 100% wet, and when it is at 100 the dry signal is still very loud. The sound was beautiful of the Nuenaber, but this was a deal breaker for me.

@@stevenrichison7974 Thanks. To me the Neunaber Immerse does not sound as clear as the Big Sky. And the sustain does not hold the same amount of depth. Also, the Shimmer on the Neunaber is quite weak in comparison.

Yes, you would need 2 amps for stereo

Yes, I no longer have the RV500 but the Big Sky will not be leaving anytime soon :)

Interesting take, I very much disagree about it sounding mono, although I have not played the Ventris to compare - I hear good things about the Ventris!
