Thanks for posting. It did the trick for me just what I was looking for. I have the el cap and I plan to keep it and adding the Dig.

Dustin Seabolt Yea both different for sure! In the studio here I find myself using El Cap on certain songs and DIG on others... but there both so musical! Makes recording fun

I have the Dig! It’s the best delay I’ve ever had and super easy to get great sounds !

I got this pedal today. The one thing that I missed on my board was the DD-5. I sold it a while back. I loved the dotted 8's on the DD-5, and couldn't find one that could do it like that. The DIG totally does that and even more. Very, snappy, clean dotted 8's. Now I don't miss the DD-5.

+Jeff Lee I am in the very same boat, my Dig is on order so we can get back to playing U2 songs, lol!
@samknaak9 жыл бұрын
+Jeff Lee Never did own a DD5. Used the dotted 8ths on a Line 6 M5 for years. Funny when guys say... 'well just tap it in'. Uhh yea, try doing that perfect ten times in a row. Especially on a fast song! Thats hard

The biggest difference is the Dig is two delays in one pedal that interact with each other if that’s important to the sound you’re looking for while the ElCap is one delay but with a variety of delay types. Both great pedals but expensive and take up space on your board. I think both need 250 mA

Really nice demo. Great to compare to the rather similar El Cap. Both are superb to my ears. I think the El Cap is actually rather analog sounding ..which is one of the reason I bought it and is still on my board a few years later. The Dig seems like it may be able to offer a slightly more clean delay. I am thinking that might work well for my acoustic board. With the three position toggle for 24/96 down to 12 bit, it has a nice degree pf versatility. Very cool.

Thanks! Yea both pedals are so great and versatile. Its funny as I use them in the studio I just hit a song and think... nope the El Cap sounds better on this tune... then the next song... nope DIG is perfect for this one. They both get pretty good use. Of course I don't own a Timeline so... Don't think I need one

I need to get me two Strymon delay pedals and I'm torn between Timeline and DIG or DIG and El Capistan combo,any suggestions?Also I know that the Timeline has dBucket and Dual mode so it's kind of hard to chose the proper ones I'm into ambient music but do also other styles
@kylebichler22582 жыл бұрын
Yeah I mean. The el cap is emulating old tape delay. The DIG is a digital delay with clean pristine delay lines.
@Thomasdgolden8 жыл бұрын
Wow, I love the Dig. I love my El Cap but the Dig seems like the other side of Zen...
@bruhdamartinasty36363 жыл бұрын
Why does everyone like the El Capitan over Dig and Brigadier? I don't get it. Looks like you can do a lot more with the Dig in terms of delay patterns.
@kylebichler22582 жыл бұрын
Because a lot of people prefer the tape delay sound of the el capistan. They’re both great pedals. Depends on what suits your tastes.

Nice vid. DIG is the stuff. Sandals are great. And sorry but the strymon simple user interface alone beats the triple delay. Agree with the price tag, but still a wicked pedal.
@samknaak9 жыл бұрын
Andrew Mason Yea the more I do studio work... both get a good amount of use for different styles BUT yea bucks, bucks, bucks for the Strymon!! ha
@savanaviolenta7 жыл бұрын
I have the triple delay and nothing can betas it especially with the Toneprint Editor,and the triple delay is more intuitive user friendly ,but the DIG holds on his own it's a super sounding delay for lush ambient sounds.
@michaelkupfer37238 жыл бұрын
While I love Strymon effects, people should seriously check out the TC Alter Ego V2. It has beautiful sounding mods on the delay and treats left and right differently when you play in stereo. And costs a third of the Strymons. Downside: No tempo tap :-(
@samknaak8 жыл бұрын
+Michael Kupfer Yea hear a lot of great stuff about that pedal! I always use my Line 6 for the ping-pong delay and then it has tap. But yea! I'm not a Stymon is for everything/everyone. Carve your own tone!
@silverben84958 жыл бұрын
It has strum tempo. Just access by holding the switch down for a few... It's not the same but it works
@samknaak8 жыл бұрын
I've never even heard of strum tempo. I'll try it! Is it just on the DIG?
@silverben84958 жыл бұрын
+Sam Knaak I was referring to the TC Alter Ego that Michael referred to. And yeah, pretty much mute the strings and do the tempo by strumming...

Which one should I buy for better solo sound and sometimes for more ambient stuff ? :)
@samknaak9 жыл бұрын
Wojtasguitar1 Honestly I recorded a band this weekend and the lead player had a El Cap and it just did the trick for the lead stuff in this band. Both would do ambient stuff pretty well since you can get that effected tail in the delays so... add a little reverb to the front or back and either would get you some pretty sweet ambient sounds. If you want that Walk the Moon intro to Shut Up and Dance sound thats DIG for sure
@Wojtasguitar19 жыл бұрын
Thanks, now I don't know, both seem to be awesome, maybe I will buy dig and then el capistan or first el capistan and then dig :)

Ryan Kennicott Word... I know now but can't stop calling it dig as in digging. :) don't know why ha

Yeah, kinda have to go with it! Unfortunately, I don't get it. Seems like a no brainer.

Not according to the guys that developed it. It's pronounced like the word dig. kzbin.info/www/bejne/pHTdYoGvgKlmfMU

+Sin sin sinner Yea I've been playing over 20 years here and did not just buy all stuff in one shot. Kind of collected stuff over many years. Pedals are great but yes you can also do a lot with a little. I'm not the most amazing player but love sounds I can get and creativity with music through some of the new gear! fun... cheers
@shckltnebay8 жыл бұрын
+Sam Knaak Just pointing out how much these cost. Im sure they are great and I have some expensive pedals but find some great cheaper pedals can do a great job, im not a fan of mulit pedals but keep on being amazed at my MS-100bt that I bought for my living room rig.

+Sin sin sinner both... but may add a Walrus Bellwether comn' up here. I used the DIG last night with sounds from a Roland GR55 and it was crazy cool sounding. Just so much you can do!

This or a Timeline?
@samknaak9 жыл бұрын
Shea Johnson Honestly the last big sessions I did with a band or for songwriters in the last month or so... I've been over and over again useing the El Cap! I do love the dig, great sound and musical... does such a cool bouncy thing for more pop type music. The El Cap is just a good all around sound that works on so many applications! I use it almost every session. I had a Timeline for about a month on loan and for some reason I couldn't get it in my workflow. I think the El Cap and DIG are just so much easier to plug in, find a good sound, and go. my 2!
@lastdaysguitar9 жыл бұрын
+Shea Johnson Dig is great for what it does, but Timeline goes MUCH deeper into sonic palates of echo tones than the Dig. That said, I would not use Timeline live unless I had MIDI control for patch changes.
@theyearoftherat9 жыл бұрын
For $50 I'd opt for the Flight Time instead. I have a few Strymon pedals, and while they are good, I don't believe the price tag is quite justified. A Triple Delay just recently put my Timeline into the closet and is preventing me from getting all caught up in the latest hype regarding the latest Strymon box.
