I’m amazed @ how tight they were this early stage in their career. Then again they’ve been an amazing band from the beginning, & they’ve put out incredible music over the years. The Final Battle is their best work to date. Can’t wait for the new album!

this the clearest version I have seen of the Downey concert. I really like the energy of early Stryper- they seem hungry to prove themselves. I was at the Stryper concert at Santa Monica Civic, great show, Autograph opened for Stryper. Still a Stryper fan to this day, Love Final Battle and also No more hell to pay. Some of the material they are putting out now days is among their best.

@@bobbysalazar5008 That's great Bobby ! Yes was a great show no doubt. Have you heard of Deliverance. Their original drummer was a guy named Chris Hyde, my best friend. He took me to the audition that he was doing with Deliverance at Jimmy Brown's place. They liked Chris' playing and he joined the band.

@@jetway7777 Yeah it was amazing. They were the first Christian metal band i ever heard of and i wasn't disappointed by any means. I was blown away by their sound and performance.

I was at that Greek show and I saw them at Irvine but not with Ratt. When did they open for Ratt - must have been during Against the Law?

actually it was 1984 shortly after the release of yellow and black attack, Soldiers not released yet, but they were playing songs from Soldiers in their set.

That makes sense. Soldiers was released Aug 26, 85 - I was at the Friday, Aug 23 concert before the release day - although their historical data erroneously claims earlier, May 1985. There is video proof online of the band filmed approx. Aug 20 saying Soldiers was coming out next week. Great White was the opening band for Stryper, at least for here in LA, October 5, 1985 and Leatherwolf opened Dec 13, 1985. I remember it well.@@ronafusa7773

i agree with you I have seen this video before as Stryper at Calvary Chapel Downey. Also in the Downey video Michael mentioned the 4 year old left in the car. I remember the part where Michael says Drum solo to Robert and the audience;

Lyrics aside, they had one of the best and most unique sounds in metal until they started writing more radio friendly stuff (which i still loved) way harder of a sound than they received credit for.

i think it was Downey show, 1984 . They were already performing Soldiers under command and many songs that would come out later on the Soldiers album.
