great video! Do you use conductive paste to repair the grounding on the top of the LCD? Do you think it is necessary?

Hi thanks for the video! i love the step by step and how in depth STS gets with your videos. Can you do a video on how and when to add the anti static paste to iphone 5S and iphone 6 etc. Also, is it necessary to add this past on all screens refurbished? or only when static issues arise? Thank you!
@STSParts9 жыл бұрын
+Jared Ungerland We will definitely post one out soon! Subscribe to our channel so you can get a notification as soon as new videos are posted. Correct answer is yes replace that conductive line every single time for a high quality screen!

Where did you find the molds for the polarizer removal? I've noticed that the 5C and 5S separate well with my machine simliar to yours, but the 5 seems to get LCD damage? Have you noticed this, and do you think the mold will eliminate this problem? Thanks.

hi! thank you for the great video, i have removed the polarizer from an iphone 6 plus, but after that the touch is not working properly. When i test the screen without the polarizer the touch does not respond, but when i kinda stick it to the lcd the touch work better (not perfectly but seems it depends by some interaction with the polarizer). Do you know if there are some interactions with the touch screen and the polarizer? i also add that all the tests that i did were made using the removed polarizer with some of the old glue on that. Thank you so much!
@STSParts9 жыл бұрын
Ostrica391 Hey there sorry for the late reply! - It is most likely because of static. Just make sure the top flex cables are not damaged and everything should work fine. Let us know if you have any other questions!

+Ostrica391 Hi. Have you solved your problem using conductive silver paste? I have the same problem, after removing polarizer, touch does not works very well.
@STSParts8 жыл бұрын
No touch can be due to damaged flex as well. Feel free to email us a quick video to cs@stsparts.us
@Ostrica3918 жыл бұрын
STS Parts i fixed it, was just the polarizer removed. When you replace polarizer and apply silver paste (or static glue) will work with no problems.

Somehow i managed to get some scratches on the lcd, under the polarizer, while removing it. Any chance the new polarizer will cover those ? Or will it just look horrible ? What do you thin ? Please share, thank you.
@STSParts8 жыл бұрын
+remus097 Make sure what you see is not the glue left from the polarizer. Feel free to email us a picture to cs@stsparts.us and we will be more than happy to help :)

I have tried to remove the polarizing film which went ok. Then I applied new one but the problem is that glue on the new polarizing film is not strong enough (definitely not as strong as on the original) and I can easily peel it off again using only my fingers. Do you have any recommendation what should I do? The most obvious solution is probably to buy a different polarizing film or is there any special procedure how to "activate" the glue on the film? If not could you please recommend me which specific type of polarizing film I should buy? Thanks in advance.
@STSParts8 жыл бұрын
Hi Peter! The polarizer has two sides. One side will not have glue on, which might be the side you are using right now. The polarizer has a strike of paint and you can see if it is going up or down to identify what side is the one with glue after you have tested one. Thanks for reaching out!
@peter1lukac8 жыл бұрын
Thank you for quick response. I've noticed that strike of paint and I'm using the right side of the polarizer with glue on it. To be more specific the glue holds on LCD but not as much as it should. Usually when I apply OCA afterwards and try to peel of the protective film from OCA then also polarizer underneath it goes of because the glue is not strong enough. I think that the problem could be in the specific type of polarizer that I've been using. Do you have any suggestions?
@STSParts8 жыл бұрын
Peter, It seems like the polarizer quality might no be the best. You can order a sample from us and we will be happy to ship to you. Thank you so much!

what do you do about small dust particles sticking to the polarizer before putting it down. they show through as dots on the screens or small hairs on screen after replacing the polorizer. do you use a clean room or anything?
@MillionaireMakerFX9 жыл бұрын
do you think an anti static ionizing fan mixed with a steamer next to machine will solve the issue. or a clean air filter next to machine?
@STSParts9 жыл бұрын
Michael Day Hey Michael! We have a clean room with an air shower but there are cheaper options out there. I would suggest to work in a corner and drop a clear plastic painter curtain from the ceiling. wipe all the walls with a wet cloth, you will see a great difference!

Michael Day id try the air filter first and the anti static ionizing fan. Those are great ideas but honestly we have not tried them, let us know what you find out!

+Tony Tone Hi! Due to different backlight thicknesses we have found the best way to make it universal is to add a single sheet of polarizer on the bottom of the mold. Hope this helps!

is the temperature the same for the iPhone 6 and 6 plus? each time i've tried it the screen no longer works, i put a polariser on it to test and it;s still just a white light, no image
@STSParts8 жыл бұрын
+larn555 It depends on the machine you have. If you have the same one being used in the video you can use that temperature. If you have the newer version of the polarizer remover you can do 170 degrees.

where is the digitizer located on this device and do you have to remove it and replace it ?

nice video but why you have to remove the polarizer in the first place?
@STSParts9 жыл бұрын
+Inspiraattori After removing the glass and cleaning the glue most times you will see light scratches on the following layer which is the polarizer. To refurbish the screen correctly you need to take this polarizer film off and apply the new one for those scratches to go away! Thanks for reaching out :)

after u took the pol and tested the lcd its lights up white. when I put the pol I don't see anything. what am I doing wrong?
@STSParts8 жыл бұрын
+Omar Mohamed The reason the LCD is white is because of no polarizer. If you were to add polarizer you should see the graphics on the screen again. If you are not seeing anything at all you can check if the backlight might be the issue. Shine a light on the screen while testing, if you see anything on it but no light then the backlight is bad. If there is nothing on the screen then it might be a defective screen. There are a good number of factors that might affect the LCD during the process.

+STS Parts is the tester board interchangeable? can I test a iPhone 6 lcd on the same as an iPhone 5?
@STSParts9 жыл бұрын
+Eastside08 The boards are interchangeable as far as if pins break in the connector you replace the board instead of soldering a new connector... however they are not interchangeable in between models. iPhone 6 tester is only for 6. The only one that you can use multiple models in is for iPhone 4/4s/5/5c/5s
