実は、先月のブルーメの丘パレードの動画第一報見て、あれ？全体にまとまりがなくなってる感で心配してたのですが、すぐに新一年生が多数入ってると聞き、納得しました、そうだったのか！？ ところが、とんたくパレードと海の中道パレードの動画見てさらにびっくり。先週と同じメンバーと思えないくらい良くなってるのでは？ 揃ってるし、堂々としてる気がします。今年の橘、新DMさん、成長が楽しみです。

抜けの良い広角レンズでの撮影はこのパレードコースには理想的だと気づかされました。見事な映像センスですね。橘高校マーチングバンドを中心にとらえながら、その両側にどこまでも続く広大な芝生の公園で窮屈にひしめきあうことなくリラックスして見物している大勢のオーディエンスや頭上にひろがる美しい雲に飾られた鮮やかな青空という魅力的な情報も過不足なく写りこんでいて、とても価値の高い作品になっていると思います。 それにしてもなんと気持ちの良いパレードでしょう。舗道はアーチをくぐるまでで、そのあとはもはやホンモノの草上パレードになりますから、晩春の玄海灘から吹きよせる暖かいオンショアにつつまれて、脚にやさしい芝生のうえを歩きながら演奏したりステップを踏んだりダンスしたり声を合わせてコーラスしたりするのはバンドメンバーにしてもメルヘン気分だったのではないでしょうか。 パレード隊列の先頭からしんがりまでの長い全体像と空と公園とオーディエンスを横からのアングルでいっぺんに入れてしまった夢のようなラストシーンは、広角レンズとこの広い公園でしかありえませんね。思い切ったチャレンジですが貴重な映像になったと思います。

So, they all play well, and all together impeccably. And they do this not just together -- but while dance-marching. Putting all of that together so brilliantly is simply unique in the world. And the singing adds a whole other level of charm. I hope you can go to South Africa and perform with the greatest choir in the world, Stellenbosch University.

@@tomhammer4589 I guess Fireball will not be there in 2025 since it was never played from 116th and later after KT had a new Band Director from April 2018. 115th had learned fireball being part of RP2018 so they still played it in 2018. 115th was when new Band Director started. So DM Kihana went to Taiwan playing a love song - (She did NOT throw Fireballs at Taiwanese people setting Taiwan houses on fire and telling their girls to strip naked!!)

It's amazing after only a month in school and joining the band, the first graders are performing so impressively already. In past years, the first graders did not make their debut until late June with three full months of training. The band will sound even better later on. Some of the first graders were actually just holding their instruments and not really playing and I assumed that learning how to march and dance with all the difficult choreography was more important to master first. From interviews with past students, many admitted they never march or dance in parades prior to joining KT. There is no doubt this band will get their third consecutive all-Japan marching gold medal. Please don't make baseless statement like: "Some of the first graders were actually just holding their instruments and not really playing " At the stage show there they were all playing reading music scores. The Kyoto Tachibana Junior High school has a brass band too but they never do marching. Probably because of the Taiwan Trip, 41 skilled musicians from KTJHS and other JHSs had enrolled in April 2023. Many of them were already shown playing instuments even at Blumen Hugel instead of just claping hands in school uniforms behind as freshies did in previous years.

@@set3777 I'm not making a baseless statement and I believe you misunderstood my comment. I'm one of the biggest KT fans. I have been following the band for over ten years and that's how some of the freshman students get trained, not just this year but in past years also and there are many videos available that can prove it. This year's Blumen Hugel parade was especially unusual as the new class had only joined after only a month and got included already. I'm not shaming the kids and said they couldn't play music and instruments, I'm just calling out one of KT's training techniques. I'm fully aware the first year students are all talented musicians already but as you mentioned it yourself, many of them had never marched before. So to become an effective member of the band they have to take it one step at a time and learn the choreography first as that's the most important part and KT trademark. In this parade some did played and there were a few that did not and simply concentrated on the movements and that was fine. How each individual participated probably was based on their background and comfort level on playing music and dancing at the same time.

@@LL-ii1dc In the Legacy past, instruments are arranged in sequence such as in RP2018: Trombones in front Trumpets French horns Euphoniums Percussions Plastic Suosaphones Alto Saxophones (reed) Baritone Saxophones (reed) Soprano Clarinets (woodwind) Flutes and piccolos at the very rear (THAT IS NOT GOOD MUSIC). Under new Band Director and new Marching Coach, the instruments are more mixed so that beautiful mixture of timbres, tones and harmony can be heard in front as well as at the back of the band. Like in an Orchestra, NOT every instrument is played all the time - music depends on the Score Arrangement so we cannot assume that some musicians are pretending and not playing at any point in time.

@@set3777 The new instrument arrangement experiment only started this year. Just watch some older videos from past years where the new class first participated in parades and you will see it. Once again, I'm not putting the new members down at all. I'm just commenting on how KT bring some of the first year students up to speed and this is a really good technique.

Unfortunately though KT won "Kyoto Gold", the place to advance further in the AJMC competition was given to another Kyoto Gold Team by the judges. So sadly no 3rd National Gold. But remember 1st Marching coach from 1996- helped KT win 3 consecutive National AJMC Gold in his first 3 years. 2nd Marching coach from 2001 - helped KT win ZERO National AJMC Gold in his first 7 years Current Marching Coach from June 2020 - helped KT win 2 consecutive National AJMC Gold in her first 3 years (2020 had no AJMC competition because of covid-19) Please support the efforts of the current coach and also the band director, since there are 41 new members added to only 58 (2nd and 3rd year) members from April 2023.

KT SHS band grew from 88 (119th term 2022) to 98 (120th term 2023) with 41 freshies joining from April 2023.. In comparison Izumo Business High School Band ("pink devils") grew from 51 in 2022 to only 52 in 2023. The KT Taiwan Trip and the prospect of going to Rose Parade 2025 may have attracted good musicians from various middle schools to enroll as students in KT SHS just so they can join the KT band.

2023年スタートおめでとう。ブルーメ、博多どんたく、そして海ノ中道、見てきましたが最初はまとまりが無くバラバラ。どうなるかと思っていましたがだんだん良くなってきました。パーカス、スネアーの男の子１年の時は１／16拍遅いように感じていましたが今回切れがあってよかったです。グロッケンの女子、体のゆれ具合、チッピを彷彿とさせます。シンバル女子、このパレードには何でか出てないですがスネアーのスタイルの良い女子これから期待です。そして何よりザウルス長女さん、クラリで探していましたがまさかバナーとは、うれしくて何回も見てしまいます。　パーカス好きより。

グレーパーカーお姉さん（島さん）のお顔が見れる動画が増えて嬉しい（＾＾） 現役の子達は、代が変わっても相変わらずほのぼのしてて可愛い。 一年生の中にすでに「この子、ファンのアイドルになるだろうなあ」という子が 何人か居る。このキレイな動画は、その子達のデビュー作として貴重です。 「出発式」とインスタ公式で出ていて、「ん？奈良に行くのかな」と書き、 華麗にスルーされましたが（以前、即リアクションをくれてびっくり）ｗ もう演奏に加わっている子も居る。 元芸能担当ですけど、オーディションないのに、 逸材がどんどん自然に入ってくるのは本当にすごいことだと思う。 で、訓練は「部活がしてくれる」そして世界デビューとか、 事務所的には数千万円の投資をしているようなものですね。 関西に詳しくない「東京もん」ですが、京都すげーなと思います。
