Have always loved Stuart as the singer in Big Country, but didnt know what kind of personality he had til seeing a glimpse of it through watching his interviews. He comes across as very genuine, down to earth and possessed a wonderful sense of humour. RIP Stuart ❤️

I was there that night in Dublin when Big Country were supporting Page & Plant. Mark threw up at the start of their first song and the band went off stage. Stuart came back out on his own with his acoustic guitar and played the full set. He was a brilliant performer and such a talented songwriter. Sadly missed by all music lovers.

Stuart Adamson's tragic early death will always be a huge loss to both Skids & Big Country fans. I still frequently listen to both bands as I did as a youth many years ago. Their music easily stands the test of time. Stuart's lyrics with Big Country ooze sheer poetry. Their poignancy, scale of depth & symbolic imagery seems timeless! Both Stuart Adamson & Ian Curtis (latter vocalist with Joy Division), are right up there with the very best singer/songwriters of all time!

When I heard about what happened to Stuart, I could not believe it! He must have been in such a dark place in his private life. Suicide seems to be a selfish thing to commit, I feel for the loved ones left behind. PS, Just A Shadow is surely one of the greatest songs of all time.

I cannot imagine, or empathize with you on what you were going through in regards to depression Stuart as i've never been down that road, however i have suffered from panic attacks (anxiety). Mental health is something that maybe back in 2000/2001 wasn't talked about much, but it's important people reach out. It can effect both men, and women, though it tends to be men that it's effecting allot more. If anyone reading this then reach out, and seek the help needed. R.I.P. Stuart Adamson, a legend of Scotland, and the world on the musical scale, and a kindhearted man.

When I studied in Oldenburg from 1996 to 2002, I watched the movie "Restless Natives" one night and I was so flashed by the music, expecially by "I will run for you". Never before music had such an impact on me. It took a while to find out what band made the soundtrack. It is tragic to see that Stuart obviously stayed in Oldenburg during that time.

Why does he hate the mention of bag pipe
@stutheguitarist85452 жыл бұрын
@@Swahy I would say it is because the bagpipes are jokingly seen as a loud obnoxious noise, and he probably felt that the comparison was more of a diss towards his playing rather than the reality of it being unique and intriguing. I love the bagpipes, so I definitely get how he felt insulted when the rest of the world insulted his culture for cheap laughs.

How prophetic about what he is saying about the desire to reconnect with the part of life that he is missing out on! He would kill himself on the day his wife asked for a divorce and had begin to resume drinking again (after a decade of being sober). What a shame. A house of cards.

One card falls, so goes the others. A shaky foundation whereas the structure will collapse if one element is removed.
