Yep! We’ve all been there - many times! But you would think a professional would be USED to this kind of pressure. VERY one-sided contest. Maybe Clark should take up dominoes.

after the break shot you can call a pushout, which means you can shoot any shot but your opponent can give the result back to you to play instead of them

Yes, Bingham missed some shots but its because he kept falling asleep waiting for Clark to shoot and then have to wake up again after the miss. No one should need to play that slowly at the pro level. Is Sullivan Clark pool's answer to Peter Ebdon? If Matchroom wants to promote 9-ball, showing this match is going in the wrong direction. Bingham is a draw to be sure. Mr Clark, think less, you'll likely play better. Whatever natural talent you may possess, you're getting in your own way and not letting it through!

How about people stop projecting and hating on everyone, and actually watch the matches they like ? Some people play slow cause they need to take the time to settle and play their best. Then they get the tanking they deserve. Shot clock exists in pool and it puts enough pressure on people already. Relax dude.

Remember all these times when everyone, including your family and friends, doubted your skills and potential and told you to quit playing pool? But no, you pushed on, you went on with the grind, sacrificed your precious free time, invested your whole being into becoming the greatest ever pool player, and after all these years the day finally came. The day when you realised you should have listened to your pals and quit, Sullivan Clark.

Imagine... snooker players play on a 12 inch table... and even so the pockets are rounded,so if you miss by an inch it will no pot then. You need precision on a snooker table, that's why Stuart is so incredible.

What’s with the referee? Shouldn’t he be standing near the players scrutinizing each shot? Makes me wonder if he’s got to divide his attention between tables. He needs to lose a LOT of weight too - got more spare tire than Dunlop!!

In the first phase of these Matchroom tourneys the ref does watch multiple tables (and there's no shot clock). They have a dedicated ref and a shot clock from Saturday. In case of disputes, they could probably look at the footage. (In case there's a delicate situation, like the player suspects his next shot could be a push shot or a simultaneous hit, he can ask the ref to watch.)

Wow. That table has quite generous pockets, considering they are only 4”. Quite a few balls have fallen that would have been rejected on our club tables with bigger pockets. I guess a new cloth makes a huge difference.

Clear and obvious proof that pool isn't a proper sport. It's like snooker for kids or disabled people. Bingham is hardly even trying to learn the 5 simple new concepts required to master this simple game because he probably doesn't need them after all. The other guy can't even pot ha ha, does he need another glove or a special cue?

oh boy, here we go again... First of all, let me remind you of the Judd Trump incident. 2021 US Open, Judd Trump enters in the tournament and snooker fans shit themselves from the excitement that there will be "clear and obvious proof that pool isn't a proper sport" and "it's like snooker for kids or disabled people". He plays his first matches and wins easily. Snooker fans can't get off their toilets, because they have lost the control of their reproductive system. Then, he plays Jayson Shaw, and looses - excuse me - gets absolutely destroyed 11-1. Pool isn't as organized as snooker is atm. That means that in the first matches you can draw literally anyone, like me walking outside seeing the flyer, paying the entry fee and now I'm the draw playing a former snooker world champion, while in snooker you have to be an actual pro to be in a pro match. Let's see how Bingham will play when he draws someone who is an actual pro and is used to play on a tv table. Pool and snooker are completely different disciplines, and while they share a lot (after all they both played with cues and you ultimately have to pot balls) they have many, many differences. Potting is easier in pool, yes, but guess what, it's easier for your opponent as well. That means that if you miss one ball you should expect to lose that frame, and possibly the next one as well because now your opponent breaks. In snooker if you miss one ball, chances are you're gonna get back to the table eventually. Only O'Sullivan and very few others play one-visit-frames consistently, that means that you are getting back at the table after one mistake with literally anyone bellow the global elite top 6 players. In pool, you lost that frame, although you're playing a nobody in the middle of nowhere. Position play: In snooker you have the reds. That means that you have many more options. Yes, once you pot a red you have to play for a color, but still, there's 6 colors on the table, you still have options (unless you need blacks bla bla bla, try to see my point tho). Even O'Sullivan, the human with the best cue ball control ever, says "play for an area". Watch his break building videos, he says that you rarely play for one red. That means that more often than not, position should be acquired with minimal spin. In pool, you often need to play for a ball then the next one is on the other side of the table, then the next is again on the other side of the table, and so on and so on. In snooker, breaks that have 2 balls on the other side of the table back to back end up in the highlights of the tournament, in pool it's just a normal frame. Safety play: HUGE DIFFERENCE. In snooker, going distance is a decent safety. In pool, you just lost the frame again. Oh, you snookered your opponent? In snooker, that great! You'll probably earn some points and maybe get a decent position after your opponent hits the object ball. In pool, you might still lose the frame, your opponent jumps it and runs out. Oh, you played a safety and left the ob frozen on the cushion and the white frozen as well! Great shot in snooker! Horrible in pool, sit down and prepare for the next-next frame. Oh, you left the ob frozen on the long cushion? Great, but your opponent banks it and runs out. My point, you might think pool is a joke, but it's a joke for your opponent as well. If you don't take it seriously, you loose. There's much skill involved, just in different areas than in snooker, that doesn't make it easier. And if it's just for "kids and disabled people" how can you explain 20:58? Bingham is literally a former world snooker champion. How can he still miss shots like that in pool?

@@Agiyi After watching a few matches by the snooker guys. My conclusion is that any professional snooker player would be in the top 100 in the world in 9 ball, for example Gary Wilson is currently in the top 100 and has taken down some big names like Naoyuki Oi and Mario He. However none would be in the top 10, or even probably the top 20. Which is completely understandable, since there is vastly different levels of knowledge. However with a year or 2 of dedicated training and getting used to the large cue ball, I think anything is possible. I would love to see 100 players from the snooker tour suddenly join say the UK Open 9 ball all at the same time, it'd be hilariously chaotic. Unfortuantely they don't share my sense of humour. Don't get me wrong I agree with you that people underestimate how difficult pool is. It's played by a lot more people around the world than snooker, yet there's only a handful that make it to the top. The top guys have a a ridiculous arsenal of tactics, kick safes, jump shots etc.
