On balance, framing Smith as a bit of a flat track bully wasn't totally unreasonable - he had a huge average but not many instances of rearguard or really gritty performances and in that series he really did cash in on the two flat decks while being exposed on the three that favoured English bowlers making his large series average a bit of a false impression. Boycott here is way too harsh though and exposes both silly jingoism and his perennial belief that he was better than anyone else. That has, of course, changed and Smith is a well deserved great of the game

@@SAKET_28 Boycott was an idiot when he was playing... Even more of an idiot when he's commentating... True, Aussie batsmen are vulnerable when the ball is swinging, as are most batsmen. But English batsmen are more used to those conditions. In Australia, English batsmen struggle with the extra bounce and seam movement and of course Australian batsmen are more used to it... In the sub continent it's the spin etc... One of the great things about the game, is the difference in conditions. Adds variety and is a great leveler. Home advantage is a massive advantage in test cricket mostly, and is part of why test cricket is so interesting. 🏏👍

Geoffrey Boycott speaking about KP axing after 2013 5-0 Ashes defeat and how England can improve after 4-0 2017 Ashes defeats are my favourite: Here is post series analysis: Where Vaughan and Boycott lay plans about how Eng can improve their game. kzbin.info/www/bejne/o3mtkImVa7CimKs Vaughan predicting if Aus find a good batsman (turned out to be Labuschagne) they could retain Ashes in England kzbin.info/www/bejne/l4vLgZtrjrpkmLs

i am surprised that there is not even a lbw wicket or bang on stumps wicket. There are all edges which is impressive. Well bowled Stuart broad !!!!! seeing this for the fast time, hope you make England win the ashes. your the perfect bowler for test matches like the swing king Anderson!!!! good luck👍👍👍

Point Break you do realise smith didn’t bat at number 3 in the 2019 ashes? Khawaja and labuschagne did, Smith came in at 4.

2:58 in ashes 2005 McGrath fired like broad and same score Kevin Pietersen comes into rescue of team and played amazing innings of 50 runs
@simongleaden28643 жыл бұрын
McGrath was a super-skilful bowler and he adapted his technique perfectly for bowling on English pitches with an English Dukes ball. Not many overseas visiting seam/swing bowlers have been as successful in England, though two that come to mind are Terry Alderman and Richard Hadlee.

No hes not hes a cheating grub. Kane Williamson is a better player and a better human being
@suxpop21714 жыл бұрын
@@chrisclark719 Smith is far better than Williamson in test. Williamson doesn't come close to Kohli even in test. Smith scored multiple centuries in both England and India consistently, toughest place outside Aus to bat for an Australian. While Williamson has been clueless in both India and Australia. No one cares about character. Performance matters most.
