Hi Rob. It was good to see you went with two grooves for the rings. I have never seen two rings in the one groove must be some Alien thing or someone filling their glass to many times. Nice bit of work, the engine is looking very nice. Have a good week.

Just watched your video and very impressive! It’s not easy, very fiddly and rubbish castings as well. Must get mine finished when life, garden, family etc grants me some time. Well done.

HI robert hope your well. can i ask why the holes are in fly wheel?
@robertbriggs846511 ай бұрын
Hi there, hope you’ve had a good Xmas. I’ve put holes in the flywheel purely for cosmetic reasons. All the flywheels I encountered on marine engines had lightening holes for reasons of rotating mass vs moment of inertia (won’t go into technicalities) but I think they look ok. Now, if you mean the small holes on the circumference they were for “barring” the engine over before starting (to clear water/condensate in the cylinders) Regards
