seekyefirst, I was there dropping a girl off at Dublin airport to return to Poland... We had great times in Dublin together. . I sent her off then took bus to go to Belfast and Derry to hang with my new friend Rodney Moore and teach a seminar... Then off to Germany and Switzerland.. Wishing the best take care

The game changes in MMA. You can't submission grapple a good wrestler that can strike. You have to fight him to get to submission positions first. And that is where Lister loses -- in trying to position himself for a submission.

FYI i actually have beaten great wrestlers by even pulling guard.... with that said, wrestling is an absolute vital skill set for sure

Im not sure that all boxing fans want to see a knock out in every fight , some of us really appreciate the Sweet science aspect of the sport . Now it seems to me that the majority of submissions we see in MMA for example , are chokes , rear naked chokes . Also lot's of times , depending on the organization putting on the tourney , Many submissions are not permitted so the fighters usually go for chokes . So no , not all of us want to see at least every other fight end the same way

I never thought of it that way , "quality vs quantity" , I don't get to train as much as my teammates due to work schedule, at most twice a week but funny thing my progress is as much as other teammate that train 3-4 days a week, why?, well I just got the answer from Dean , thank you! .

Dean, what you are saying about training and functional strength is right in line with the research that is coming out right now. Strength is sports specific. Riding a bike will not make you a great runner.

People just don't get it. We can lift all the weights, do all the machines and cardio programs at the Gold's gym, but if we don't grapple, we are going to be tired and weak in 2 minutes of a match. The only thing that makes a man a more powerful grappler is more grappling against a live opponent.

Alexander Higgins Absolutely correct. One of my favorite memories of BJJ is weightlifters coming in for their first workout in grappling and then having the thousand mile stare on their face after it was over. Very humbling experience for them (as it was for me the first time).
