Great tutorial- so much garbage out there, nice work, very Thai style, understand the different variations of the roundhouse dependent on opponents reactions, knee across for aggressors , pushing off the kick to nullify a counter kicker... thai style is a long straighter leg approach - keeps you further from the opponent and allows maximum power... knee across becomes a defensive tactic if needed. Great work! Beauty roundhouse too by the way, love seeing a farang who actually knows how to throw the kick properly

A question from a beginner, isnt it bad that he drops his left hand when he kicks at the beginning? The oponent could just step out and hook/elbow, or am I wrong?

nice...becareful becuz u can get ur leg caught with that 2nd technique...i like to fake the roundhouse into a knee soon as they flinch...a bjj practitioner would have a field day with that move...n the ring...yea...that's a good move u can utilize...especially against aggressive opponents

That elbows slick and brutal. I hate getting caught but if I perfect this I may get caught on purpose lol

This kind of a framework does play well against the opponent who looks to catch all the time, you will have to let me know how you get on ;-)
@michaelmelton36442 жыл бұрын
When you hold the technique it should be held across the waist line with the foot angling down to prevent the sweep or round kick counter from the rear leg. Everything else was correct so I`m not sure if he knows and just resting his leg on the pad, or he really doesn`t know. Either case it`s bad form to show a technique improperly, especially when that`s the most important part of it. From that position he is wide open for a round kick to his standing leg (which can cost you a knee). .

How about drill to can do to improve hip flexors? I'm finding it difficult to train myself to use the hip flexors when throwing a knee. Not just throwing the knee but using the hip flexors to finish off the movement Hope this makes sense?
@warriorcollective7 жыл бұрын
It does make sense and you are not on your own. There are a few good videos on this channel aimed specifically at those wishing to increase their flexibility for kicking. There is one for Muay Thai with Rich Cadden and a Yoga based one for Martial Arts with Zoe McPhail. Check them out and let me know if they are of any use!

5:40 risk of getting slammed?
@warriorcollective7 жыл бұрын
I can see why you might think that but with the way this works it is actually quite difficult to be slammed if you do this correctly. It is do with displacement of weight, clinching the head and always having a leg available to post down if need be. That isn't to say you could not be put on the floor if you get this wrong ha ha. Hope you enjoyed this excellent video from Dan and Parnpetch!
