My bulldog does exactly the same thing and this starts when we’re a few blocks away from the vet. Resists going in, tries to hide or be inconspicuous in the waiting room (an inconspicuous bulldog? Ha!) and then usually takes a massive dump in the middle of the waiting room.

Sweet Rocky. You are not alone. My Frenchie and Australian Kelpie dislike the vet, too. Luckily, our vet knows bribery gets you everything, so the treats and pats are first and foremost until they both settle. When it's all over, that's when laughter ensues cause they're ecstatic to be going home. Rocky, it's okay to ge scared, buddy. I'm terrified of my dentist. However, it passes. Poor sweet boy! My English lab Boomer gets allergy shots as well! He seems to not react at all with a pinch at the base of his neck. He does have quite a bit of skin so maybe that helps, it’s definitely worth the relief! I hope it helps your Rocky, he is so handsome ❤❤❤

My son and family took in a rescue mixed breed and asked me to take her for vetting. She needed shots, check for worms and they cleaned her ears. She blamed me for the “horrors” she experienced and would run from me for quite awhile! She made a LOT of noise during the exam!

We think chiweenie type as she has that tight doxie hair and long tail but her body looks like Italian greyhound. Long legs and tail, slim body but the head is not typical. I

Thank you 🐾❤🐾. About the hugging, for some reason, Rocky is not a hugger. When we hug him, he would get very squirmy. He is a very muscular boy, we could not hold him, so we had to let him go. We love him the way he is, don't want to force him.

🥰🐾. Because Rocky is on limited ingredient diet, our vet said it is likely to be environmental allergies (e.g., pollen). He gets cytopoint shots, seems working really well. But it is hard to watch Rocky taking the shots.☹

@@BruceJackson-lx2dw we have changed monthly allergy shot to pill 💊. It dramatically reduced the frequency of vet visits. Vet making house call? Not sure we have vets here doing that. Will Definitely check it out. That would be so wonderful. Thank you 💕🐾💕.

Whether we were just lucky in our choice of vet I'm not sure: nor do I know what the general position in England is these days is. I suspect it varies geographically and what is any given practice's policy. Love to all.

Thank you for your feedback. What do you do to keep your pet's skin from flaring up due to allergies? Bulldogs are prone to skin allergies. It would be nice if there are alternatives than the allergy shot.

@@RockyTheBulldog-Feb14 I had a rescue White American bully that had terrible skin allergies he lived on steroids and antibiotics and creams at the shelter and I had to learn real quick how to help him.. but the 1st 2 yrs we still needed their help at least 2 times a year we'd have to go get steroids but no antibiotics, I tried every food,I was convinced it was his diet... Finally I got gentle giants non GMO food for him and he couldn't have white flour snacks like Pizza crusts,that made a big difference but once I started adding salmon to his food too oh my his coat and skin were velvet soft and then we only had to go to the vet usually once a year. for a steroid only my son went salmon fishing every year just for him lol,I had a vet tell me it wasn't his diet or food related SMH that's exactly what it was for Jim,but that's why he was taken to the shelter Because of his allergies, males me still sad to think about,he passed peacefully at home 10 days after his 12th birthday in April 2024,he absolutely hated going to the vet....look at Gentle Giant dog food and the creator of the food.. We can tell that you are a kind person ❤. It actually was not that bad except the shot. The technician who gave the shot was not very skilled. We are changing our vet office because of that.
