What I hate about landlords and developers is that they have no respect for the old building and the surrounding area. In the 1980s, when i was a young boy. My grandparents' cabin was sitting pretty far in an old untouched forest. There were several other cabins there, but they had all been made to undisturb the forest around them. There was no noise from the traffic from the main road. One year in the late 90s, the new landlord decided to develop more land for cabins by cutting down most the forest. Now, the idyllic areas around the cabins were ruined, and the noise from the road was no longer blocked 😢. After one visit in the late 90s, i never went back because i wanted to remember how it used to be 😢.

There was a house that was cut in half in Punta Gorda Florida. A man was divorcing his wife and in her absence literally cut the house in half, moved his half to a new location and of course sealed up the open side of the half he left on the lot for his wife to have. A friend of mine actually bought it in the early 2000s and less than a year later someone running from the police plowed into it at high speed taking out half the foundation. I have a great story, so I lived in Germany for about 3 years and when I was there I was in a scout troop. and in that scout troop we had a myth about a creature called the bunny man. the reason this started was because of a very very creepy experience: so we occasionally camped at a place called hill 549. and at that place was a couple old buildings from world war 2. and in one of them was something really unsettling: there was some chairs put in a circle all facing inward towards the middle, in the middle there was another chair but there was also a photo in that chair. the photo was a black and white photo of a boy, who looked like they were crying, and behind that boy there was a man, dressed up in a bunny costume... anyways I love your videos be amazed you are truly amazing.

We live down the road from the Zammit property and have done so for 21 years. We watched the homes being built around their property and privately cheered them on for keeping their land. We have similarly seen market-garden properties and lovely green fields around us turn into multiple tiny homes and units crammed next to each other - some with little to no front or back yards. Some are so close, they could touch the house next door just by putting their arm out of their side window! What used to be our view of our beautiful Blue Mountains is now one of multiple roof-tops. The price of progress, I guess.

In the UK there is a process called a compulsory purchase order, which can be made if a public body such as your local council or a government agency wishes to buy your land. It's a long and complicated process and involves negotiations over the price using expert assistance. The laws on acquisition of land in the USA sometimes look as if they are pretty vague and random. Here we have compulsory land registration which was introduced 100 years ago: almost all land here is registered, so ownership is undeniable unless people go in for do-it-yourself conveyancing.

Stott Hall Farm is a farm located between the eastbound and westbound carriageways of the M62 motorway in Calderdale, England. It is the only farm in the UK situated in the middle of a motorway and was built in the 18th century on Moss Moor. It lies south of Booth Wood Reservoir where the carriageways are separated between junctions 22 and 23. The road divides for much of its length between the Windy Hill and Deanhead cuttings because of the surrounding geography; but a myth persists that it was split because Ken and Beth Wild refused to sell. In the US, the government can use Eminent Domain to steal your property if it will be used for a public good, e.g., highway, hospital, school, fire station, and the like. However, about a decade ago, the SCOTUS ruled that the government can also steal your property, so a private developer can build commercial or residential properties on the lot. The reasoning is that the new development will bring in more tax money and thus would improve the public.
