Stubby Showdown: PB Swiss vs. Wiha Bit Holders

This is a review of the Wiha Stubby Bit Holding Screwdriver (Wiha 28103) and the PB Swiss Stubby Bit Holding Screwdriver (PB 8452.M-10). The screwdriver handles and bit holders are made in Germany and Switzerland.

Great review. The bit holder cartridge models is where the two really differentiate themselves. The PB style is much nicer (as are the PB bits). Other than the purple extra heavy duty screwdrivers, I have found Wiha to be inferior to competitors, but still very very good screwdrivers. I will say if I don’t need anything other than Phillips and slotted I tend to grab the stubby klein I have (which also has 1/4 and 5/16 nut drivers too).

a thorough look. well done. I have been enjoying my pb so far. We'll see how it holds up in the long run. I wish vessel would make a stubby with bit storage. Their ratcheting stubby is ok, but uses a ball detent and long bits. The kits comes with a flex and bit holster which is nice.

I own both , and like both ! Both are very nice units ! I kinda use them interchangeably . I like that you can’t lose the bit magizine in the PB . We are fortunate to have so many good options !

Does anyone know why PB Swiss seem to be mostly available as imports from Japan? Although on UK Amazon some of them appear to be sent from the US. Weirdly there is a PB Swiss UK website and it's still online and shows their full product range but ''closed'' and all buttons are inactive.

Have you tried the centrofix from Wiha? It is the best bit holder with the lest play of anything available and supports so many different sized bits. They are also releasing a ratcheting screwdriver soon based on their patents. There's a diagram of it too
