I used some extra. Stuc-O-Flex Elastomeric Acrylic Finish. It provides a protective weathering membrane in a pre-colored, extremely durable, fade and mildew-resistant coating.
My pal Dan Johnson who works with Stuc-O-Flex is the man to call.
Dan’s an expert with all Stuc-O-Flex stuccos and stucco acrylics.
His number is 425 885-5085.
Stucco flexes acrylic can be used for driveways or walkways.
However, it’s almost impossible to pressure wash any oils leaked from cars off driveways.
Hence, few things adhere.
Stucco acrylics last forever on stucco walls, as it is a physical fact that cars don’t drive on walls; thus, no oil to tranny fluid to remove.
The fact is, I have found that if the concrete is super clean, it will adhere and last 20 times longer than just primer and paint; it plus be sandy so that when it rains, it’s not slippery.
My friends. I’m using stucco Stuc-O-Flex acrylic product for another purpose in this video than it was engineered for.
Can you use stucco flex acrylic products for sidewalks or driveways? I did it many times, and all were successful.
I once added all the excess stucco acrylic stucco I had saved in my garage and mixed them in a fifty-gallon trash can.
I applied the acrylics to my slopped driveway with a fat roller on a pole stick about 20 years ago. It came out grey in color and is still stuck like white on rice to that slopped driveway and is still sandy for a non-slip surface.
If you consider this method, a surface must be clean enough to eat off.
As nothing adheres to a dusty surface.
FYI, acrylic stucco sticks to almost everything.

Howdy Gregory, thank you, my friend, Louuu has been out for 5 weeks already, he flipped over going to fast on his ten-speed, the surgeons were good they set it right, so possibly he has another month or two, then learn to walk again before you can carry tons of cement. The hard part of him stopping by was, I said, dude, "want a beer, he screamed, I'm on antibiotics I can't drink beer". Man, I really felt bad for him at that stage. I felt it my duty to kill one for him, that cheered him up a little. Peace love and happiness to all. Plastering and repair tips for your number one investment

Howdy Fernando, just thought I'd let folks know that often excess acrylics have other advantages that are quite beneficial in some cases. So contractors do as I do, don't have the Stucco acrylic companies tint all the pails as you can get a refund on all unopened pails as long as they don't add a color, or keep the excess and color a different color for a different project. @StuccoPlastering
@StuccoPlastering 6 жыл бұрын
Evening Yes Dude, contraire monfraire, cement products don't have that great a shelf life, a year or two for best results. The accelerator luminite for setting cement, last about a month when opened than you have to use two times as much to set the cement, another month three times to do the same setting as when the bag was opened, and on and on. It's funny, cement bags are sort of like food eat them fresh for best results. Unless it's pizza after a rough night, tastes better than fresh. Howdy Reconciliation Dude, I'd use what's available now, such as gypsum plasters if extra strength was needed I'd get into the veneer plasters that have crushed limestone in them or even crushed marble. Back in the day, they used whatever was found in abundance including all animal hairs and human hair if available, I've read about 20 other other materials that were put into plaster to reinforce it's strength also, more than 1 way to skin a cat. Kirk your videos are the best. The way you can ramble while you are working, and it is all interesting, love the awesome couple you and your wife make. Now my question. I have a driveway which was blacktop and has been sealed many times but not for about last ten years. It's rough and has some cracks but I think it is solid. I know cement is not recommended but I'm ready to try "cement all" surface for like 1/2" topping, in a small area at a time. If it holds up two years fine, if pieces crack off I can redo it. But now I'm thinking maybe the acrylic you showed here has a use. Can the acrylic be layered with time between layers? Would cement all be better on top of acrylic with sand than old blacktop? I was thinking of polybond but do not need a 30 year solution, happy to repair spots year by year.
@StuccoPlastering
@StuccoPlastering 2 жыл бұрын
Howdy Rob Dude blacktop or tar will shift in the extreme heat, your best bet is the acrylic, but can only be applied an eighth of an inch thick. If you put "Rapid sets cement all" which is crazy strong when the tar heats that will slowly crack and fail like any other product even poly bond. Acrylic is the way, but driveways are a nightmare to clean as the oil penetrates deep.🥳

In preparing a concrete driveway for this process, would just using a pressure washer work or pressure wash plus degreaser? Additionally, would a adhesion additive be helpful?

Not really, your on the right track with pressure washing and degreasing as driveway are tough to prepare. Unlike walls never greasy as it’s tough to park a car on a vertical wall.😉

I wanted to congratulate you on some informative and very entertaining videos. I have seen numerous of your videos related to concrete overlays and I had a question. I had to repour a large area of my pool deck and I wanted to know if I could use Stuc-o-Flex to add the knockdown that matches the rest of the pool deck. Let me know if you recommended that, epoxy or regular concrete overlay. THANK YOU!

Greetings ARG, I would recommend stucco-flex for all walls as it's specifically engineered for walls. However, since I'm not the sales rep, I would recommend you call them.😏Some acrylic or rubber ground solutions are more specific to ground vs. wall needs. Our unique plastering Tip: all subscribers or anyone who stumbles on our channel with a question, type it into our Stucco/Plastering channel, and like magic, a video will appear to explain how it's done. Can you apply a good acrylic finish over porcelain tile on a porch and get good adhesion and be non slip? and then paint or stain?
@StuccoPlastering
@StuccoPlastering 8 ай бұрын
Exterior tile work as you know should be pourous and or made of clay so that when wet you don’t slip. Porcelain tile can be pressure washed well and an acrylics finish placed or applied over but would be difficult to keep clean. I once used a masonry saw with a blade and cut some lines into marble steps, in order to give them a better grip and stop folks from slipping.

@@WallaceRoseVincent yes i know from research the ancients used lime plaster for there walls but not sure what the consistency was if it was just gypsum /plaster of paris mixed with lime + water or what grade of lime they used....etc Could have been just lime + cement + water or lime + cement or mortar + water. Or most likely they just mixed lime with clay + water because i don't think they discovered cement until much later they always had clay though and limestone. But the heating of it i in ratios to make cement based products i just dont think they thought of until a lot later.

One thing I noticed and my question can this stiff be clear coated with a cement sealer? For driveway. I can see it mark up with tires really bad. Also my last stuff had silica not sand from bmi. Did I need a coarser material. I believe I used smooth, And seems it marks up very easy.

Good morning Oksana, keep in mind these acrylic are engineered for walls, not to be driven over. However I have used them successfully for concrete, there are three types of sand fine, medium and coarse, I'd advise medium. If the concrete has any, greases or oil spills from the cars or trucks nothing will stick to it. unfortunately, like any paint marks from tires and such are difficult to remove.
