I had the same issue in my brand new altroz. I did the same a few days back and it worked like a charm. The showroom people were quite confused and asked me to go to the service center. This simple DIY saved me time and fuel.

Mere sath ulta hota hain. Band karne jata hu fuel lid to kabhi kabhi band nhi hota. Petrol pump Walo se bhi aur merese bhi

Bhai jo locking wala tab hotha hain jo white plastic part pe lagtha hain wo thoda weak rehtha hain usse thoda bend kardijiye towards the white plastic part. Ho jayega.

I also had same issue. I tried adjusting the height but looks like I overdid and got paint peel of on upper part of body where lid closes. The issue seems to be the spring, service centre replaced the thing and now it’s fine. But being Tata service centre they simply were careless doing so they made further scratches from their screwdriver and their response was “ Ab repair hoga to thoda to upper neeche hoga hi”
