I think we just need to accept that being palatable to man can never be a standard for a child of God because the world’s palate is 99% opposed to God’s way. If you are doing it God’s way, which almost always is unglamorous (narrow is the road), it won’t be as lucrative and popular, take it as your cross. If you influence for God, he will sustain you, not campaigns and views. Thank you for this convo. Going all out for God is costly. We all have to pay a price, we literally have to die to self. No other way

I have been following Yolz from the very early days of her channel. And Honestly you've remained consistent in who you are in Christ, I've never in any way felt like you've deviated from your salvation. You've been putting pure and genuine content nothing ungodly. I think what is happening to you now is a mental SHIFT and a spiritual elevation. God is calling you higher, but this calling does not invalidate how you've carried yourself or your content creation, your content creation has always felt like ministry, you've presented it very purely. God is doing a new thing in your life, he will order your steps, worry not. ❤ Remember God looks at the heart, even though not all your content is based on God or scripture, but your heart posture is well with him, you could be putting up content about "food" for instance, sharing a meal recipe, it doesn't scream GOD, but the purity of your heart does, and that's all that matters. We need to learn that everything we do is meant to give glory to God.

I love the idea of Biblical finance principles. I think we can all learn from the idea of money not being evil. Poverty to prosperity is a goal honestly, especially when you grew up in poverty. To be able to say “I'm comfortable” and know it's true?! Ndingakhala Yolz. Ndingakhala everyday from gratitude. On the note of the balance between being set apart vs palatable, you're so right. I find it in corporate. You obviously want to excel and do your best, but I've found corporate is a lot of personality sale, networking, being likeable and relatable. That comes with lot of blurred lines. Practical example is the need to network. In my field, networking involves a lot of alcohol filled social events and it's a race for who can drink the most. I avoid them because I'm tired of explaining why I don't want alcohol, but that also means missing the networking. I'm way too old for peer pressure to work on me so I just won't do it, but I'm also finding it limits promotions and so on. So I actually don't know where the balance is practically. This is an interesting topic which I think is worth engaging as Christians.

I am in a similar situation I run an online thrift store and I have just been questioning how to incorporate God and He's teachings in my content 1 and 2 how I stand out and realize my authenticity as a brand, yes I want the money and I do understand we are in a competitive industry but yoooh no I just don't feel the competitiveness anymore. I am questioning God if this is still where I need to be. So thank you for normalizing such thoughts. I believe God has called us all to something and I love clothing/style that's my ministry and we just need to heed to God's calling. Thank you❤

God wants abundance for his people. I don’t think there’s anything about God that wants people to live in lack or poverty. So I don’t see what’s wrong with teaching on money and empowering people in being industrious. I can think of a few people, but I believe God doesn't expect us to remain stagnant, them moving to other things than their initial way of content creation is just GROWTH, it doesn't take away their calling and heart for Christ, they are growing and still serving God, maybe not exactly the same as they did previously, but God is in their hearts. I pray however that behind closed doors they are honoring him. I know someone here on KZbin who's focus has completely changed, she started well but now aiii ego and the love for money has creeped in, it's sad to watch.

This might be an unpopular opinion..but i thought to just write it on here. And i mean well- no malice at all intended. I see this drive into influencership by many- most of which are learned girls and guys, with either already thriving or have GREAT potential to thrive in corporate. While personally i understand the passions these good people have….what if you also normalise going back- yes- to corporate, when it does not make sense anymore?? Much as there is a part of the pie for many because its a big social media world..maybe, just maybe not all of you are actually meant to be in that space forever. Maybe its a phase and you can actually make money back at work because you are great at it too! Its cute to not wake up and rush to work etc - slow mornings , mimosas BUT…will it really sustain most in the long run. Let us also think of our kids and families - partners especially. I find it unfair for one to keep pressing where there isnt much because its a passion then have the other party work and work and work…resentment is real guys. Much as they might support! Most of us strugggled to get those degrees like you all say so why just drop it and…move as if its all well even if its not. Soon kids will want a decent life..the one we all grew up wanting. Lets pray for wisdom- God is not a God of confusion and or stagnation. Lets normalize 9-5s and sustaining people long term- securely❤❤
