Personally, this paints Pentumbra as a sort of Watchdog of Zarroë. The creature tasked with retrieving any escapees, dissuading any other attempts, in exchange for the bittersweet opportunities to leave themself. An almost cyclical trend, because "If Pentumbra can leave, why can't we?", followed with an attempt, followed with a round-up. It's a song of double-faced fortune, of underworld oversights, of a dark fate. Perfect for the Shadow Quad.
