I understand your dilemma. Stay true to yourself and don't fall into the trap of speed/bricks laid etc. Do it right. I see too many pick 'n' dip videos where the perps are almost empty. just waiting for the rain/frost/ice to do it's worst. You are too good for that.

Pic not dip method is a no brainer imho. I reckon once u get it sussed out (using more compo)you'll be the best and neatest picker and diperrrrer ever 😂 top video Stu cheers bud👌

Need to spread a deeper bed on the pick and dip and don't spread the entire bed it kind of defeats the object. One decent sized trowel full at the same time as picking up a brick, tend to tip the back in slightly as I lay it down to force the muck forward and not into the cavity. Works great when you've got the knack

Second time I've seen him misrepresent the "pick and dip", yet try to bring attention to it. Its frustrating. Ive converted and went from one of the fastest, to the clearcut fastest amongst my peers.

The pick and dip method just doesn’t look right to me? I like watching you guys butter the ends! Looks skilful and you get to check the bricks while you do it.

In Germany in the Müsterland we use for Klinkers only the pick and dip Methode.But special in hot Summer we put only for one Klinker the Mortar....when the Stone is very thisty😋

If you look closely the other dippers on yt the back of the perp is often empty, it's no good layin loads if their not right.

in Denmark we use pick and dip and we use a different kind of Trowel than the one you use

Don't spread and furrow the bed its a trowel or two a time for the pick n dip that way you'll get full joints

Spread thick and don't furrow the mud and your joints will be full, no holes

Could bastardise the pick amd dip and just not furrow your mortar then use the peak of the triangle to fill your perp, it's not quite pick and dip but it works, sort of. Lol

To master pick and dip method firstly you need to brag about making £400 per hour and secondly you must get mortar all over the face of your brickwork. Most importantly is no 3, be serious when say it actually looks very good in person. 👍😉

Agreed. Nothing beats a proper buttered perp. Get the feeling the perp is half empty on pick and dip.

So brick houses are actually structurally made with the larger cinder blocks and then have the smaller bricks more as decoration as the outer wall? Houses are wood where I live so I've never examined a brick house up close.

So you scrape the excess off the laid brick then flick it back on the spot board instead of buttering the next perp? Where’s the sense in that, I was taught economy of movement.. pick and dip ain’t that

Love to see that the Englisch brick laying is so much different from Dutch bricklaying. but its still bricklaying so at the end there is not that much differents

try with hafe 110 mm tube 1m long and leave them 2 handles up from the material. its a quic methot who y learn in spain.

Well it depends on how hard the bricks are, softer bricks take the water faster out of the mortar, we in the Netherlands go usually 2 meter high.

Stick to the method you normally use the work looks fantastic, quality wise it always made u stand out compared to the others on KZbin that rush sloppy work. throwing bricks off scaffolding is a bit edgey though

You can’t get any bt stuff it’s never in stock. Basic stuff to make surprised they can keep up with the demand. The gear needs to more heavier stu stuff looked a bit to soft to be affective on pic and dip.

I'm fed up seeing videos of bricky's claiming one way is better than another. Just lay brick whichever way you are comfortable with. So long as it's neat and sound, what does it matter? I've been laying brick for more than 40 years, can't see me changing can you?

11:09 you have made a 3 brick high gap for the cil and on the right only a 2 brick high gap is that a mistake or is there a reason behind it ?

@@Chrismartin88 u didn't understand me the side with 3 brick high gap the top brick is only half a brick 100 mm and will be laid on the sill when it is fitted as it can not flout in mid air
