Dad loved Studebaker, we had three growing up. I learned to drive on a '53 Commander V/8, three on the tree. Dad let me put 3in lowering blocks and spun aluminum lake hub caps and dual glass packs on her. That Loewy Coupe design was way ahead of its time. Our last was a '56 Golden Hawk. Engine Turned aluminum dash with Stewart Warner gauges, matching speedo & tach. A Muscle Car before the Muscle Cars. I was king of the Pack in '58. Ahh the memories. Keep 'em alive. 🇺🇸

We had two Studebaker cars in our junkyard behind our ranch cattle barn. Dad parked them both before I started kindergarten. He sold them in 1991 for a pretty penny. Not even running.

Australian here, I have a Studebaker 6x6 military truck ; the Australian Army purchased a job lot of these as a fill-in truck after the war until we could produce one of our own and when they did the Studebakers were sold off. I have owned this truck since 1973 and used as a fire truck. It was made in 1945 so is two years older than me and only has 20k miles on the clock. It has always been a most reliable and able truck and is a credit to it’s makers. It seems strangely ironic to me that the best makers of vehicles are the ones that went out of business first.

I really enjoyed the 1959 Lark 4 door. My first car in 1969 was a 1959 Lark 4 door a pinkish color w/flathead 6 , three speed on the column w/overdrive cable under the dash. It cost me a whopping $150. It had Fred Flintstone floor boards. My dad was a mech. so helped me replace them and the trunk pan as well. Had to replace the clutch as it wouldn't pull a slight hill with a 250 # buddy in it. The radio didn't work so when I got an 8-track player for Christmas my Dad installed it in the dash for me. I was the only one in town with an in-dash 8-track. Like your first love, your never forget your first car. Thank you for sharing the video with us. From N.W. Iowa. Again many thanks. P.S. Nice car show! I am somewhat of a purist, but can really get into a custom car done right and that truck is an example of it being done right.

Fun Studebaker fact? They started out making electric cars for 6 years before they produced a gas vehicle.

In 1953 my dad got a 1951 champion 4dr pea green. I was 6 at the time and thought it was ugly.
