I'm surprised you enjoyed them as much as you did, but I'm glad. Bloodywood are absolutely legends in the making and they're an independent band as well

The dancer in the blue body paint represents the Hindu goddess Kali, who is basically the Destroyer. Her thing is "eating demons and wearing their skulls as a necklace." She's the spirit of feminine vengeance, and within the context of an anti-rape-culture song, they're bringing her in as the ultimate fate for these degenerates, to be rent limb from limb, Kali dancing on their bones.

Yes, "we" (society) need to watch out for each other and not turn our backs. Rape culture (blaming the victim, not the aggressor) is bad in India and they are saying that everyone has to actively stand against it and not let others take care of it.
@ryantannar53012 жыл бұрын
from what I have heard (I am not Indian so I could be wrong) but my understanding is that this song is in part inspired by a phenomenon over in India where people are fed up with how bad rape culture is there and have started literally dragging rapists into the streets to beat them
@DiZastur2 жыл бұрын
it's everywhere, it was just easier to blame misogynist cultures, that happened to me, until I watched this band and I realised some in this culture hate this too

I’ll try to get you the basics - some songs have more folk elements than others. This one is their heaviest so far. If you want the complete other end of the spectrum, try Yaad, just a heads up, it’s very emotional for us animal lovers. Stick around for the bit after the video, it tells you a lot about who they are. And on that, they’re completely independent, no label support of any kind. They do their own recording and production on both video and audio. You can always tell it’s Bloodywood, but they are excellent at tweaking the sound to match the message. Dana Dan translates to “bring the beat down” and the music reflects it, the chorus is pretty much the same rhythm as beating someone down. Aaj is another very anthemic one, but it’s about positivity and removing yourself from ruts and bad situations to pursue your dreams. They put heart & soul into their lyrics, and aren’t afraid to tackle subjects most would shy away from. Oh, and US tour end of summer, in case you decide you need to experience them live

You should also check out Raoul Kerr's other song on rape culture, "For Her" under the "No Flag" channel. I understand that Karan from Bloodywood directed it, which was how they met. Very different sound, but just as direct in its message.

Yes! You get it. I too never really got the djent stuff but these guys are doing it right. Definitely go back and watch this with the cc on. Their lyrics are always really brutal with real messages. Regarding the folk part, Indian folk music usually have really fast bouncy rhythms so it's way different from other folk music. That being said, this one is probably one of the least folk songs of theirs. Please check out Gaddar and Aaj next. Subbed immediately, although I would love it if you show your cats on the next one😋 love from the Maldives 🇲🇻🤘

approximately 15% of the world population comes from India, I didn't really understand until I started watching this band, check out their other Videos, the local scenery is mindblowing and the integration of traditional instrument with a metal sound is amazing. This band was actually more incredible than the first time I watched the Voice of Mongolia, how little we know in the West

*You should have turn on captions for the lyrics. Its 'folk" as in their use of traditional Indian dancers, Indian music with the rock, Indian instruments with the modern & lastly the 2nd guy screaming is singing all in Punjabi while 1st guy is in English.*
@DiZastur2 жыл бұрын
instrument guy is Karan, Screaming punjabi guy is Jayant, 1st guy rapping in english is Raoul, getting to know shit 101 is learn people's names, people tend to like when you care enough to ask their name. Please tell me you don't have children.
@DiZastur2 жыл бұрын
before you get all incensed, let me explain further. I have never and will never have children, nor will I ever take an animal into my care. The reason is, I know I get lost in my own mind for hours sometimes days and I'm not capable of having someone or something depending on me for anything, much less love or sustenance. This does not make me a bad person, if I ignored my limitations then yes, that would be bad. However, I know who and how I am and I work within those parameters to be the best person I can be. Can you say the same???
