Pretty sure the 17 year old shooter didn't legally buy a gun and the city won't prosecute the car burglars stealing and selling them.

I am sure Gov Lee's voucher schools will all have an sro and metal detectors at the entrance.

Tennessee state Constitution article 1 section 26 states that the Tennessee state legislature's authority on guns is limited to passing laws to regulate the carrying of guns. In the 1990s, the US Congress passed the Gun Free School Zones Act, making it illegal for anyone other than individuals who are authorized by the state to carry a gun at school. The Tennessee legislature already passed a law allowing teachers to carry guns after passing background checks, mental screening, getting additional training, and getting permission from their principal. What else do these students want the state legislature to do, that they actually can legally do? Pass a law allowing off-duty police to carry guns at school (they currently can't do that, unless they want to be charged with a crime)? Pass a law allowing military personnel to carry guns at school? Or do they want to tell everyone that the state Constitution can be ignored because they want it to be ignored, which could lead to other people deciding that it's just fine and dandy to ignore any laws you disagree with?
