@@warmwoolsoxgood4559 Yeah, seems to be the general populace not just these days, but pretty much how's it been through out history. It's human nature to follow the crowd, do what they do, think what they think. It has served us nicely through out evolution. You really didn't want to be the outcast of your tribe back when the world was much more unforgiving. It's a survival mechanism that we've developed over time. As much as we like to pretend that we're superior to animals and in many ways we are, we're just animals following our instincts. When I see people gather to hate something or someone and they themselves can't explain why. It reminds me of more primitive times with kings and knights and the like. Where the king could literally point at anybody and say anything he wanted to and people would either love and honour him or hate and want to kill him. Depending on what the king said of course. Then the peasants literally and figuratively lived in the dark. There is no excuse for today's peasants to look up any kind of information they want. Of course, their beliefs and biases will make them lean towards a certain direction. We're all guilty of this. In my humble opinion, I think that's very immature. We should mature as a species if we're going to keep going forward. There's no real point in evolving physically anymore. We should evolve our minds. Instead of looking for the truth that we want to hear. We should be looking for the objective truth. It's possible that we as a species will never evolve in such a way. One thing is for sure is that it won't happen any time soon. We can try at least.

This could be propaganda, but the way I have read the history, Margaret Sanger was familiar with abortions accessible to Wealthy White Women, especially in metropolitan NYC. The thing she wanted to NOT HAPPEN was this: in bringing that same accessibility to rural Black women, for any people to draw _erroneous conclusions_ that there was a secret intent to exterminate Blacks, rather than to extend pregnancy termination options from Whites to non-Whites. My understanding is that many Black women in that era had 8, 10, 12 more children, as many as her fertility made possible, and that this was often more than she and her husband could even afford to feed or care for. Malnutrition and starvation was a real issue, with that many children. Then, SEVERAL debates about a) under what circumstances can abortion be a moral choice, including risks of life and health of the mother b) should that moral choice be up to the women, or should The State control that moral choice for women. c) should the wombs of ALL women, particularly of child-bearing age, be private property or public State-controlled property? Should judges be empowered to issue warrants to have women arrested, on legal suspicion or accusation of having or attempting an abortion, and subjected to forced gynecological exams conducted by police-doctors, who would be searching for criminal evidence of abortion inside women's bodies, contrary to the normal role of doctors which is providing medical care to the patient. d) should Christian morality be an individual moral choice, or should Christian morality be imposed by elected and appointed government officials and politicians? To my understanding, early Christian principles were to challenge people with the voluntary moral choices to be Christian or not be Christian, but not to have these personal decisions enforced by mandatory government decree, bypassing individual morality. I mean, a person can't stand at St Peter's Gate and say "I'm qualified to be here because the government forced me to be comply and I had no choice in the matter". That's NOT the act of CHOOSING God.

There was no racism involved. This is out of context. "Word to go out," in the 20s, meant that they didn't want people to get the wrong idea. Sanger was no racist. She worked w/WEB DuBois, she and MLK praised one another, and Rosa Parks was on PP's board in the 70s. Sanger didn't tolerate bigotry on her staff. She spoke to the Klan Women's Auxiliary because they asked her to, since their menfolk didn't want them to know about contraception. She later said that it was the weirdest experience of her life. Her own writings show great sympathy for the women of the Far East. She was appalled by the rise of the Nazis. She was indeed a eugenicist, but, if anything, anti-racist. I'm tired of the lies.

That perhaps they only actually think an issue through rather than parroting what they were taught by their religious circle when it happens to THEM?
@OneWhoDreamsAwake4 жыл бұрын
Snap-off ... are you saying that all of those abortions of down syndrome babies are had by conservative women? 1 of every 800 infants with many as 6,000 children born with Down syndrome each year. According to the stats I found, it’s actually 67% of prenatally diagnosed Down syndrome pregnancies are terminated. I’m pretty sure at least a noticeable majority of abortions are had by liberal women instead of religious Christians/conservatives, based on their value systems. I’ve never actually heard of a liberal person describe a situation where they decided to keep an infant with Down’s-though I’m sure some have. I feel that it’s likely more rare. Even so, some people make mistakes or are hypocrites. Just because SOME people choose to go against the belief they claim to have, doesn’t mean the initial argument is invalid. Not to mention, it’s factually true that conservative women have more children on average. Your logic here is a little confusing for me. I get why you don’t like hypocrites, but I don’t see how that gets you to “therefore your ideas about termination of pregnancy in general are wrong”
@snap-off53834 жыл бұрын
@@OneWhoDreamsAwake Nobody said that. That was generated by your brain, unable to read what was actually written and understand it. What we KNOW from that statistic is that around HALF of them (3 to 6 out of those 9) will statistically turn out to have been church-going conservative flat earth superstition adherents who finally had something happen to THEM, that made them actually THINK about it. Also details matter on the stat: about 2/3 down syndrome fetuses total are aborted. Of those who TEST for the syndrome with a genetic test, the stat is 9 out of 10 then proceed to abort. Notice I said "*fetuses diagnosed with down syndrome*" and no other misconstruction of those terms. The stats also show prenatal genetic testing is a 50/50 split politically, and not favored by one or the other. Your ideas of termination of pregnancy really are just a basis, for another argument you MUST make: The government must become involved with its force of fines, incarceration, and weapons to FORCE the decision of carrying the infant to term because ________________? (fill in the blank). Make sure you don't go so far as to say the government must act to preserve the life, even if it means depriving the other of bodily sovereignty, because preservation of life is paramount, because then those 13 people a day dying of kidney failure can be entitled to your organs against your will. (they also serve as proof of how few pro-life people are actually pro-life rather than pro-forced gestation because of indoctrination into flat earth superstition - if you have 2 kidneys you're allowing death you yourself could prevent one of.

For Christ’s sake, when did our university campuses become so filled with such sheep!? Whilst I acknowledge that we’re all somewhat idiots in our late teens and early 20’s, but even in that age of relative naïveté, I was much more cynical, suspicious and wary of party lines, talking points, political rhetoric, and media narratives. I suppose that’s because I was raised in an era where they still taught critical thinking, and thank God I was. The kind of mindless parroting of regime narrative’s being spewed from the mouths of these kids positively disgusts me.

Much of the public associated Planned Parenthood with things like pregnancy prevention, something that obviously prevents abortions since it is not possible to have an abortion if you are not pregnant. Vasectomies probably prevent more abortions that screaming demonstrators. BTW: I do NOT support legal abortion. One of the best things about Dobbs is that it caused men to get vasectomies and women to get tubal ligations, both of which prevent abortions. Of course, these operations are permanent so you better either not want children or have completed your family is you get one. And while you can regret a vasectomy, a man in prison for non-support might regret not getting a vasectomy.
