I find it interesting that Beyoncé never mentioned police once in this perfomance and white America can somehow find a way to connect to an anti-police mentality. Almost as if police brutality IS a prevelant issue that NEEDS to be discussed.

My view on all this is that Beyoncé have a platform she can use and she motherfucking used it. The super bowl is a great opportunity to bring up a world-problem! She is an artist and if she want to aim her attention and focus on this devastating problem she absolutely should!

lmao when did Beyonce sing about cops?? lol because I replay that song constantly and never heard her once say anything about police...they just want to stay relevant.

I'm noy very good at english but I have read the translation of the song and... I can't see why it's controversial. I read that some people find it "reverse racist" (¿?) but for me it sounds mostly like any other popular song now (i'ma star, blabla, paparazzi, money, blabla, a meaningless refrain/chorus) with some things concerning black people (the baby hair, the nose, black Bill Gates) and that's all. I'm confused. I don't see the "racism against white people" neither criticism against real racism in the song. Can someone explain to me why there is so much debate about this song? Thanks =)

no girl, it's about embracing your melanin...because here in the U.S. if you aren't a white person they treat you like crap. The most discriminated people in the U.S are 1) afro-descendants and 2) Indigenous descendants (what people call Native American, Mexican, Guatemalan Salvadoran, etc). This song, at least to me, tells me that I don't have to change myself to a European standard in order to be okay with myself & be proud of my culture. For many years we, "brown" and "black" people, have been treated like slaves. Even till this day you can drive up to central California & see families of Mexican farm workers picking fruits in the fields for less than $5 an hour and living in shacks & tents w/out any rights (just one example of modern slavery). But you have to understand how this nation was built...on the exploitation of non-white people.

I do not in anyway stand with or agree with what those newscasters were saying and I felt so embarrassed that community members of color had to hear that garbage. I am slightly removed from American pop culture right now as I live overseas, so I had no idea about the half time show and whatever controversy. The overall response I give to people scared that I support BLM causes is that how can we say any lives matter when we don't protect and celebrate every life in every cultural background. Once that's squared away in our society I'll support another cause.

Beyonce is the baddest bitch in the world. And she knows that. What she also knows is that she can help change the world and help her people. There's artists out there singing and rapping about sex and shit then y'all niggas wanna hear someone sing or rap about some real shit and real problems. That's exactly what Beyonce did, but bitches out hear complaining that it was too harsh and that she needs to calm down. When is the world going to accept "freedom of speech" instead of freedom of speech to a damn limit"? Beyonce isn't going to do that. She will give it to you straight- no chaser. I'm glad she's using her fame for something unlike some other basic artists.. No shade though...

umm, the word is "whether" [expressing a doubt or choice between alternatives; expressing an inquiry or investigation (often used in indirect questions); indicating that a statement applies whichever of the alternatives mentioned is the case.], not "weather" [the state of the atmosphere at a place and time as regards heat, dryness, sunshine, wind, rain, etc.; wear away or change the appearance or texture of (something) by long exposure to the air; come safely through (a storm).] other than that, the video was good
