Right? I thought maybe on the platform area, but the way it was decorated, it's more of a lounge area. Possibly, they have the matress stored, and they pull it out at night?

Their instagram posts lead me to believe they use a futon on the raised platform. But it really isn't clear 😅😅

I only discovered you guys last night so very late to the thread. Think you have done an amazing job of making a small space welcoming, warm and inviting. The only thing I would have done differently is to have a thick pile lush rug instead of the vinyl looking checker board mat on the platform area. I think it would add a bit of softness and luxury and in turn make it cosier and softer to sit on. It would also add another dimension of texture with the cushions also. I think the flat mat is quite normal in the far East and in these type of studios, as they usually lay a futon on top at night, so maybe my suggestion is more of a western view as I’m from the UK. Love how it all turned out. You did a splendid job in a short space of time. Love it. ❤

I think they have a roll up Japanese style mattress/futon. And with the revisions to the raised area, plus the flooring and white/taupe curtain, it may be on the floor just in front of the curtain. A lot of people do this in efficiency apartments; beds don't have the focus like they do in the US.

My colors were only Earth tones, but I saw someone highlighting faded Autumn colors and I fell in love with them. So, Earth tones and faded Autumn colors. I love large windows for natural light (which gives me a headache, that turns into a migraine) I'm not a white fan beyond Subway white tiles as backsplash for the kitchen and bathroom. My style is more of French country, meets Western country farm type, meet open plan. I know that sounds crazy, ask me how to decorate using those style I'd die. I cannot decorate or match colors beyond my favorite colors ultramarine blue with black. I'm weird lol. I do like you style for the apartment, it's cozy for a nice to enjoy reading or writing.

I guess they have a futon slim mattress that roll in a box during the day and take out during the night.

@martafiord The rolled up mattress/futon also often functions as floor seating/floor sofa.​
