Your Headphone Cup Upgrade is basically upgrading to ATH M70X. Since your upgrade is clearly cheaper than a full replacement you did good! I personally wouldnt replace my M70x Cups because i think they have done their Engineering on comfort vs. sound quality, their unique shiny sound is very cool ^^

Depends on the size of the room and how much he wants to have the natural reverberation of it in his listening position (Sweet spot). This setup comes closer to a headphone setup because of its near field monitoring and wall absorption, makes the sound better in the listening position. This is also in no way an academic video on this topic in my opinion just because the Microphone never is in the true listening position and we catch way more of the "trashy" room sound that you never avoid. If he likes the result though and is able to upgrade his works, nothing wrong with it. Classic clean stereo monitoring setup

@@banaaaaaan very interesting, i was watching a discussion about something like this and also a video from Kush Audio. He was talking about a Transient blooming phenomena and how you should not use your monitors as "headphones" that is why I am asking. He was talking about hearing compression easier depending on the distance that you have from monitors. Thank you for your reply.
