Lyrics window display window can absolutely follow the track and help artists while they're performing - you just have to get out of edit mode (the pencil on the right). You can change the font size and whether it's left align or centred etc.

Man the vocoder alone is worth the price of the update. It's the easiest vocoder I've ever used to set up with an external synth and play with. it can make some pretty scary sounds. Love it!!

The 3rd party drop down micro view is BIG. I really was happy to see that added for sure. And to the point you made about the little changes. Yes, there have been a TON of little nuanced convenience minded changes over the years with this DAW. They seem very focused on streamlining the user's workflow, and helping increase productivity. Some other DAWs, no names mentioned, seem intent on assuring the need for a college degree, with a major in no cools, umm, slow fools. Lol, It's like, hey, we can surely make you have to access 3 different screens, and perform 15 steps, to set a loop region, that makes us fancy. Aaaaaaand that's why Studio One is going to be number one studio before too long. I've been on this DAW since .... 07ish I think, a looooong time, and the effort they've put into perfecting the user experience is absolutely welcome, and appreciated.

I’d like to know if they addressed some issues with their Presence VST. The Studio Piano that came with my version has velocity issues that seriously limits its use. This has been reported by me and others for a long time. The preset drum kits in Presence don’t have a feature that has been available for drum playing on the keys for 30+ years, and that is open hihats choking when you press the closed hihat key. Many sounds don’t have modulation already pre mapped to the mod wheel, and need to be assigned with the controller matrix (very annoying). The Orchestral Expansion pack for Presence has glitches with the key switched articulations resetting to default completely eliminating every key switch point within a recorded track. This is also a reported issue.

I am trying to figure out how to do something that should be relatively simple. I have a drum track that I'm using but I want to put a one or two measure audible click track in before the drum track starts so that we know exactly when to start playing and I can't quite figure out how to do that. Right now when I click play the drum tracks starts immediately with no audible count in. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

It's nice to have new features, but stability should be the main focus. Sometimes i think S1 grows too fast. If it didn't crash that often, it would be one of the best DAW's out there.

@@cefahprod not crashes , but better Asio Driver compatibility like the one Fl studio did for itself that's much better than the general asio Driver that has tons of issues

@@ahmedyadam7240 Exactly, i didn't really mean 'crashes', but sometimes during mixdown S1 stops working and i'll get an error message saying "engine stopped working". And when i open task manager in Windows to activate or stop the program, S1 isn't there. I have the same issues when i let S1 running in the background for a few hours bc i am doing something else like for instance watch some yt video's. It's not my pc, every other DAW i've tried over the past few years ran smoothly. I even bought a new DAW specified pc a while back. The issues started with version 4, luckily i still have the install of version 3.5.6.. no issues in this version. And it does everything i need to make music. As a secondary DAW i use Reaper, its a fine DAW only it looks little cheap.

Good stuff! Catching up here to Samplitude ProX(6/7) in multiple arenas here, including: Mixer channel view (Track Inspector), Notepad, Flip Faders, Track Presets, Better panning options, Dynamic EQ, multiple Video lanes, Adjustable Toolbars/Icons, Lyrics (Samplitude has had all these for 2-10 years). Plus the existing compositional features where Studio One is already ahead. Would wish for improvements on the SHOW page to be implemented (from User input), so that S1 becomes truly a viable alternative to Live.

Dudes! How did you bring up that larger panning gui? THAT is very helpful for the blind man "me 20/400- very blind lol" I swear I've been using 6.whatevers current for the better part of a year, and haven't discovered much at all. It's there, I just live in a tunnel, and apparently don't look out of that tunnel much, to my own detriment. Gotta work on that.

I have ST1-4.6 and I use the function called Scenes to group the drums, guitars, etc. to work on those parts individually but it seem you can't do that in ST1-6? If this is true...That really sucks! Is there a way to do this or do I have to use mix scenes to accomplish this now?

So, I tend to pause a video, when I have a comment, or opinion to add, so I don't forget what I want to mention, at the end. There will be multiple comments from me, so that's why. The algorithm just HATES engagement lol. So, I did not know about the file drop feature, from the home screen. I do lots of drum covers, and my process has been to open file explorer, load my template, then highlight and drag n drop the stems into the arranger. I call them stems, because they are the individual instruments and vox of the song I'm working with. Now, I'm wondering if preloading them from the home screen will save me much time. I know that when I discovered I could drag and drop files, instead of song/import audio track, then browse to the file, that was a monumental time saver. I'm trying to figure if there's a benefit to preloading them. I shall ponder lol

Looks a great upgrade. Just 1 minor criticism but the Start Page, New Song, that dialogue box on the right says Drop Files Here, but how do you drag files there if the Studio One Browser isn't visible. To me you'll have to use the ... each time

You can drop files into this field from ANYWHERE ... Explorer / Finder or any other application that supports drag'n'drop of files.

I would like to record an album using studio one. The songs will be entirely acoustic, so acoustic guitars, drums, etc. Is there a (simple) way to create multiple songs with all the same channel settings without having to configurate the inputs, effects, etc. individually for each and every song?

This may be an old feature but with the melodyne integration is there an easy way to convert audio to midi that is faster than saving the midi file and dragging it in?

Yes, just right-click on your audio event and select "edit with Melodyne", this automatically creates midi data which you can then drag to an instrument (midi) track

Is it possible to activate Cubase on multiple computers with a single license? Reading through the Steinberg's web page, it seems that one can only transfer license from one machine to another not being able to use CB on both . That is my greatest concern since, I have 2 workstation PCs. Thank you.

Do you guys use Sphere or Professional. After I discovered that a lot of the best stuff in Studio One is only available with Sphere, I wasn’t sure anymore about it as a long term idea. Am I missing something. Advice would be welcome. Thanks.

If the extras in Sphere are usable and helpful to you: Go for it! I don't use it because: 1) I have large 3rd party libraries from other sources. But if I was starting out, Sphere would be great! 2) So far I haven't needed to collaborate with other users. But if I start doing that, then Sphere becomes more compelling. 3) The price of starting with Sphere is unbeatable. Just do it. But for those of us who already have S1, it's more mixed. Upgrades seem to be every 2 years, so by using Sphere it costs 2x the upgrade cost over time. Also, buying the upgrade to v.6 Pro, I'll always have that. Paying for Sphere and then stopping -- I would only have access to the last prior version I purchased (v.5 for me). 4). Tutorials -- same thing. Awesome if you're starting out. I've bought courses that I haven't used yet. So, I'm already backlogged. So, it seems like a GREAT option for someone getting going. And less compelling for someone who already has a lot. I'm grateful that Presonus offers both paths. Sub-only would be frustrating to me.

Yea I’d support the crash issues .. not to worried about the added gadgets etc BUT fix the issues. I’m feeling we all over the barrel once you buy into it. Then the charges get piled on.. I use it with the Studiolive 32 S Mixer working with DAW… if they prices keep rising I’ll be selling desk and all other Presonus gear and go back to Apple Logic

Vocoder helps if only because other vocoder VI plugins are hobbled in S1 by the absence of audio sidechaining as an option, contrary to most other DAWs.

I really like studio one, unfortunately I discovered that bounce function or transform to audio track, sometimes doesn't reproduce exactly the created sound FX by midi or audio track.I tried all possible settings 512/1024/2048 device block, 44/48, with minimum dropout protection, but nothing. Something is missing in the sound of the bounced track.

Although I would always recommend Studio One to any one wanting to get into music production as I find user friendly and intuitive, I've never been a big fan of the GUI, especially the mix console. It's only my opinon, and for lack of a better word, but I always felt it was a little childish and more so with the new icons for tracks and start up page. It could do with looking a little bit more sophisticated and grown up. This is one area where I think Pro Tools has an advantage against other DAWS, especially the console screen. But looks aren't everything it's functionality that counts and this is the reason I use Studio One and will be upgrading to 6 soon.

Here's the most important thing to know - It doesnt work reliably. Open a v5 song with like 60 tracks and it freezes, freezes, freezes... Great for productivity 😢 Stay with SO5.
