Studio One Quick Tip: Colorful Notes in Your Piano Roll

Some things seem obvious once you know them but often times it takes knowing they even exist to make you go looking for some feature. Note Color is one of those features for many newcomers to Studio One.

Yes, I had no idea for quite some time either. I activated the colours per note just while exploring and I've found it very helpful since then.

Hi there. I was wondering if you could audition notes on the piano roll by clicking and dragging like you can with ableton and logic? I know about the listen tool but that's not really what I'm looking for.

Thank you for your tips!I knew it for this tip.Do you know if there is a way to show the name of notes not on the midi but on the piano roll (piano keys) for me that i am not a piano player?I think that this can be done in Cubase.Thank you again!

I don't think there's a way to show names on the keys in Studio One. As a workaround you can just place all notes in the piano roll and mute them. So you'll see the names on the notes but they won't play.
