Incredible work on the existing model and the best of luck with the build! The idea of scratch building that scares the heck out of me! Credit to you and the rest of the forums who've helped with the detective work. Really looking forward to seeing this come together!

This is phenomenal, mate, really. I don't know how you can manage to id anything. My mind is so overwhelmed thinking about the numerous kits. It's so cool to see all the parts and how it goes together. Your paintwork is absolutely brilliant as well. Your studio scale jobs especially. It feels like I'm looking at a life size thing, and then I see your hand pointing, and it's just awesome. I'd love to see more progress parts builds and painting for stuff like this. Cheers!

Hi John. Can you say something about the fastening? What is the hex-nut thing and how is it still movable? I'm planning a base for my Slave-1, but I'm not sure how to get it to work at a 90 degree angle. Thank you!

@@johnsimmonsscalemodelling5270 Any tips on digging out a channel around that outer sheet near the canopy? It's filled in on the Finemolds but it's like floating above the underlying hull - you showed it here as one of the black vac form pieces. Trying to cleanly dig that channel out is holding me back, I'm pretty sure I'll screw it up, and it aint a cheap or easy to find kit now.

@@johnsimmonsscalemodelling5270 Pop it in a sandwich bag, make sure you're wearing your marigolds and squirt in the Mr Muscle and leave it in the sink over night with a window cracked open for ventilation. Then in the morning, put the marigolds back on (assuming you took them off to go to bed) rinse it all out under the tap. I've done it a lot, it's always left the plastic squeeky clean and no paint left, maybe a little scrubbing with an old toothbrush in the crevices. Honestly though you're work is immense, really looking forward to the progress.
