Not only was it used for Bayformers, but this is actually the ORIGINAL voice for Soundwave in G1 and Prime. Frank Welker did the raspy, deep voice, and Hasbro added a vocoder over it.

On a side note, here's to hoping DNA designs gives us an upgrade kit to spice this figure up more. Maybe arms with awesome paintwork, a painted and hopefully articulate laserbeak, and his blasters! What the heck, why couldn't we even get one in the figure itself?

Who else remembers the DOTM video game Soundwave? When he was an SUV, who else prefers the big beefy SUV? I feel like it looked a bit better and helped him be a little bigger and still make sense, also a little like the Animated vehicle mode in a way

Emgo, if you want to pick out the details of lazerbeak just mix some black shoe polish with some water and dry brush it on to lazerbeak and wipe away the excess with a paper towel

My only 3 problems with thsu figure. 1: Head broke too easily (might have just been me being too rough tho) 2: the side parts of the front are kinda tight. Edit: I mean the front side parts of his chest 3: doesnt come with a gun. (Lazer beak doesnt count. Well, I guess you could use imagination and pretend his arms are sound-shooter-things. So, technically 2 problems)

For future movies, should they be rebooted, Soundwave should be a blue, 1978 Pontiac Trans Am. Lazerbeak is the hood bird decal, Frenzy and Rumble are the smaller bird decals behind the doors on the side. That would be a sweet Soundwave.

I think Laserbeak should be classified as a shifter. Though the transformation style of the AOE cons seems like it could work for live-action shifters! If anyone doesn't know what a shifter is, the guy who turned into Wheeljack in prime was one.
