A quick comparison between Studio Surface and Through Curve Mesh. Both great tools that are similar but have some distinct differences.

Great explanation. The most important part of the video for me was that fact that you recommended one tool over another. I'm going to switch to Studio Surface for my primary surfacing tool now.

Is it right if I say: Through Curve Mesh is less flexible, I mean it is more strict compare to the Studio Surface but it'll generate surface that you want, vice versa in Studio Surface is is more flexible but it can generate more complex surface if you not careful. Btw, I want to ask about equivalent tools/feature from Solidworks to NX. 1. Pierce constraint in SW, what's the equivalent in NX? Now I use intersection point first for reference. 2. Loft, this one I can achieve with through curve or studio surface and bridge surface. I mean if I didn't need guide curve, just 2/more section/primary curve. Is it right? Thanks

Hello. I have question, is the lack of spine curve option in studio surface a disadvantage comparing with through curve mesh? Thanks!

thanks for this. question is, I have a scan model of one part and I need to create a surface matching that scan file, is there any simple way to create it taking that scan as a reference ??

NX has a reverse engineering Toolbar that has some scan to surface creation tools. I will try and get to a video soon. Cheers.

Hi sir, can you please make a video or explain how to join different curves of different dimensions as present in the starting of this video ? (The figure in video has 8 curves in total, but how to create and join them )

When building cross sections man can use Through points type of splines and the sections will go right through primary curves I guess

If we calculate all the control points, can we generate a surface in NX based on these control points? Mathematically, if the face is a bezier face, we can do it...

I don't have any complete notes!!! I have what I know. Keep watching and if you have any questions please feel free to ask.

I am new to NX and I would like to know what is the difference between arc length and parameter options in studio surface?? I saw changes of my freeform surface after i changed the option from parameter to arc length but I do not understand where the changes are based on.

I will make a video for you in a few days.

Arc length is only arc perimeter. Or Perimeter is a every line circle profile unbend length.
