That's a $200 tops ali watch. imho. $800 for a seagull is bananas. They should have called it the banana watch

I like that the brand has some fun and is really creative, but realistically this should be a $300 - $400 watch tops. The Sugess and other similar ST19 chronos are like $150, with very similar cases

No amount of ''Ooh, it's such a lot of fun!'' from the vapid influencer clique will make me believe this is anything more than a decent, colourful dial on a >$200 Chinese watch.

Omega, IWC, Tudor among others in my collection. SU Watches are very satisfying to me and very few other watches let me enjoy looking at them as much. I do concur that these 1901s seem to be quite different from the usual Seagull and I managed to regulate them all a little better and the’ve become very accurate indeed. The 02 Series Sellita has been extremely accurate from the start with me. I own Full Mo0n and the Mint Ch0c Chip, as well as all of the uneggspected series. Not sure if I’ll keep the latter ones, but the first two have become very dear to me. One has to see and feel them, I think. We all don’t have to agree and while I do like a GMT Master II, I’d never buy one, much less wear it.

Cool watch, but $800+ for a Seagull movement is insane

Studio "no longer" underdog been making the same watch over and over and people still hype about it. They definitely know something that I don't.

It definitely won't appeal to people that don't have a creative-type brain. They require a pretty specific sense of humor.

@@jaredstephenson6468 Yup. I completely agree with you. it is not everyday some company introduces us with something this unique (especially with the humdrum 1963 movement from Seagull). I don't think that this concept will fly for a long time, but at least it is a start. It reminds me of Ming Watches. Something very unique and super high quality that really captured our unique side of imagination.

Just some marketing ploy to sell overpriced watches. If you produce few pieces *of course* you'll sell out. But now I've "missed out" oh noes lol.

@@jaredstephenson6468respectfully - I don’t think it’s a matter of creative-minded being a requirement. I think it’s just tacky and for 800 dollars it’s somewhat steep. This is a seagull based chronograph that can be found for 3x less I don’t think a funky dial makes up for 500 dollars compared to the plethora of Chinese watches using this. Interesting sure - but its marketing leaves a lot to be desired and its limited edition just breeds hype and fomo. Once the hype dies down so too does the brand. Nothing about it has that staying power.

$800+ for a watch that has less appeal than the "Red Star" watch using the same movement that sells for somewhere around $150, or less on sales. Of course, this one is proudly "assembled in Great Britain," never mind where the parts were made.

These ones were 875 after fees, shipping and all. I bought the boiled egg and love it on the milanese band but the strap isn't my favorite. I think the regular production series 01 are 600 or 650. I think it's great and wears really well but we all like different stuff and this won't appeal to everyone. it's quirky and dare i say even elegant in person, but I love that there are brands out there like studio underdog and mr jones who make watches unique and fun.

Studio underdog get handmade straps buy a small company from England called the strap tailer, that was his logo on the back. He makes handmade bespoke straps that I can highly recommend. (Not an ad.) The strap will be worth over £100 so you get a lot for your money with the watch.

Yes, it does, Rob. $800, of course, it is tough to swallow since most of this 1963 Seagull movement watches are between $150 to $300 range. However, it is a super unique watch with an awesome marketing and intriguing ideas. Rotten egg, boiled or fried egg... I mean who would have thought of that?! ha ha ha. Genius! Even the indices looks like eggs. A lot of thought went into it and it came out way better than most of us ever would have done. Would I buy one? Not my style and I have a feeling that I will get bored of that type of design very quickly. Thanks for the review, Rob! for showing us something unique and different, rather than those mundane watches from affiliated on-line watch stores in various part of USA.

I know there's something for everyone, but if I have $800 to spend on a watch, it won't be on one of their watches! I'd rather go get a Hamilton or Mido chronograph on the grey market for that amount...

Beautiful watch, but that dial deserves a strap color to match with it. It's a shame about the size, too small for me. I wonder if Studio Underdog does adjust this Seagull caliber themselves? Because if this a normal ST1901 Seagull, I would have doubts about it

No. Just no. I don't get it IMHO. How is this scrambled egg sold out? Oy. And the Seagull movement albeit not terrible doesn't reflect the price point.
