STUDIO VLOG 002 | Illustrating a Children's Book | New Enamel Pins | Packing Orders

In todays studio Vlog, lets illustrate a Childrens book cover.
Hello Guys! Welcome back to DA STUDDDDIOOO - Firstly I just want to say a HUGE thank you for the response on my last Studio Vlog, you guys don't know how encouraging it is to see all your amazing comments, it makes all the editing and filming so much more worth it!
In todays Studio Vlog I will be illustrating the front cover of my Children's book commission I have been working on, as well as seeing a new batch of enamel pins that have arrived and the finishing off of the book, such as the pattern pages & squeezed in all that is my etsy orders!

Now that I'm sure we are destined to be besties, I can confess: you scared the crap out of me this morning. I turned on my computer and went about making coffee. All of a sudden I hear a woman's voice coming from somewhere in the house. Then I realized she was British and once sure there was no British invasion, I realized I had left one of your videos paused when I turned off the computer and it just kicked right back on once my computer came on. Ha! Loving the studio vlogs. That hygge pin is giving me all the feels. Can't wait for the enamel pin video as it's always been on my goal list, but am a bit apprehensive about sending them off to be made. Don't want a janky product back in return. I'm way too perfectionist for that!! I've also always wanted to write and illustrate children's books, but...there are also 800 other things on my goal list. Oy. I live vicariously through you. The book cover turned out really nice, the art is super adorable! I have single glass windows in my bedroom and it gets freezing in the winter months, to be fair I do live in Norway and it is generally really cold in winter. I would recommend you having a big and warm blanket in the studio and a kettle for warm drinks.

Heater. Also you can get some plastic that you put up on the windows. Its like a shrink wrap it will help a curtain over the door and a rug for winter will also help insulate you. I British but live in Louisiana now and though it s super hot most of the year when it gets cold with all the tile flooring around and no central heating. I pop my carpets down in the winter and store them over the rest of the year. totally worth it

Yes the watercolor texture would be lovely, I paint in watercolor so learning how to do it digitally would be fantastic. I know there must be tutorials out there, but sometimes it's easier to learn when you like the person that's showing you how 😂, I bet you'd be a good teacher. I'm kind of behind on how to use all these programs and I'm planning to start learning very soon, so yes please it'd be very helpful for future reference. Have a great day🌈

How interesting, illustrating a children book must be such a satisfying experience ! Are you self-employed ? Has it been a long time since you begun ? It's a choice I have been considering for myself but I am afraid of the cost of the investments... Did you bought all your material at once ?
